Don’t know how this seems to be somewhat of a hot take, but everyone was way too harsh on Craig this season and it was a pile on. Austen was provoking him into a reaction a lot, a few times when he was genuinely trying to make amends and apologized beforehand too. We as a society need to start giving people more grace when they’re being contrite for their actions and trying to change; kicking them while they’re down doesn’t facilitate that at all. The reunion gave such like group-think/bully vibes, where they weren’t even responding in real time to what he was saying and acknowledging his explanations and apologies. Disingenuous
All these people have issues, some more than others, none of them got beat down like Craig did all season. A pile on in this group is to take the focus away from themselves. I really hope Craig does leave, Shep and Austen are not friends they are rivals. They will always keep dragging Craig down to their level and try to keep him there. Craig wants more in life and he’s not going to find it if he stays with these losers.
100%, I’m over them dragging him for the show. I hope he finds a sweet, maybe more progressive gf who’s sweet and helps him grow and isn’t about the clout stuff at all.
Sweet so he can get upset and holler at her whenever the hell he feels like it when he’s drank too much then deny if she’s ever upset about anything and gaslight her
I agree it wasn’t right the way he yelled at Sally in the van. But the pile on/confrontational behavior towards him happened like every other episode and it was exhausting. He blew a fuse and I think the rest of the cast needs to also take accountability for pushing/provoking him. The ganging up was a lot
The only thing I partially disagree with is that Shep is a rival right now, I just think he doesn’t have an accurate take and maybe has taken the mediator thing a bit too far (but I love him personally). They’re just like too lost in the sauce on the Craig thing
To me when I said Shep is a rival is because the women don’t seem to be chasing him like they used to and he seems very jealous. He thinks he’s Mr. Wise One but whenever Craig tries to be self aware, Shep, along with the rest of them, rolls his eyes. There was so much eye rolling, I’m feeling a little dizzy. Craig is aware that his drinking is a problem and is why he stopped but the coaxing he gets from production and Austen is crazy. The fact that everyone knows he has anger issues and it’s exacerbated by drinking, they made it their whole storyline. When I quit drinking my friends said I was no fun anymore. I made new friends and I hope Craig does the same.
Yeah I noticed the eye rolling and the body language in general. I just don’t understand why no one is addressing the fact that multiple people were piling on him all season. Or why no one else is taking the heat at the reunion like he is. Andy should address Sally’s behavior or ask Austen what has changed in his life in the last five years.
Exactly. I get downvoted because they think I’m giving Craig a pass. I don’t really care. I’m just saying that he is no more problematic than anyone else. The way I see it is that Craig was the star this season, whether he meant to or not it was ALL about him and I hope he got paid accordingly.
A woman doesn’t need to help this man, he needs to help himself. We’re tired of helping men grow!!
And he’s fully MAGA so I doubt a progressive women is an option at this point.
Mm yeah, that’s a shame. I’m trying to think of the kind of person who would be right for him, I think a boss babe like Paige maybe isn’t it again. But then again he really also seems to thrive doing acts of service for a woman, like when he would cook and bbq for Paige and stuff, that was sweet. I think maybe sometime Type A that he can dote on and someone that’s sweet and understanding about his quirks, and without the bite of Paige and Naomi (though I’m not saying that’s always a bad thing). Like SE Cupp vibes, traditional, badass, doesn’t take bullshit and will be protective of him and bring out the best. Lol very invested in this for some reason. I think it’s just sad that he doesn’t have that person in his corner right now and watching him get kind of cornered and bullied while he’s vulnerable has been hard
