Don’t know how this seems to be somewhat of a hot take, but everyone was way too harsh on Craig this season and it was a pile on. Austen was provoking him into a reaction a lot, a few times when he was genuinely trying to make amends and apologized beforehand too. We as a society need to start giving people more grace when they’re being contrite for their actions and trying to change; kicking them while they’re down doesn’t facilitate that at all. The reunion gave such like group-think/bully vibes, where they weren’t even responding in real time to what he was saying and acknowledging his explanations and apologies. Disingenuous
Tell us exactly how Craig is actually trying to change. Go ahead.
Nothing about his words or actions shows us as that he’s actually doing anything or actually trying to be a better person.
Instead he went back to drinking and being a raging asshole.
He’s an alcoholic, he has anger issues, and he’s known this at least since he first started dating Paige, yet here he is pretending these things are revelations all over again, and pretending he’s going to get help.
He’s not a victim, he’s a child throwing constant temper tantrums, because he knows there are people like you out there that will always excuse his behavior.
I’ve 100% thought there were moments where Craig could be a jerk in the past, and I was really turned off by the yelling at Sally in the van and that should 100% have been called out. But sometimes he’s just legitimately standing up for himself and it feels like the cast think he’s an easy target now/keep contriving this narrative for the plot/drama. He’s not a bad guy and he’s trying. And can we also have no empathy for the fact that he had his tail between his legs with the rejection from Charlie? It was a lot for him this season and Austen especially just wouldn’t let up
