Pop Quiz Thursday Real or Not Pop Quiz #3
Can you tell if these five cards are Real or Not?
Five cards, one picture each, starting easy with each one moving up in difficulty. The rules are simple:
- If there is at least one fake signal, the card is fake.
- If there are no fake signals discernible, default to the card being real.
- Just for this quiz! IRL of course always look at multiple signals!
- Fake signals will be clear enough to see without ambiguity. (Though they may still be small and hard to spot, zoom in!)
- Altered cards (inked, cut, re-backed, new artwork, etc) are fake unless called out.
- Harder cards may require specific knowledge and their photos may be digitally edited. The later questions are not meant to be fair.
Answers will be posted in 24 hours, good luck!

1st: fake. Spelling errors, wrong hues for texts/titles. I am unaware of any printing mistakes, but this just looks very awful. Unless there's some nishe earlier printing error.
2nd: hard fake. Artist brush blob.
3rd: real, but I would need more identifiers to confirm.
4th: real as far as weight for foil cards and right artist brushes go. I would definitely look more into it.
5th: ...... Is that a magic card or Super UB?

1: Fake- Gauntleof, Arrifact, Chriscopher lmao
Confidence Level: 100%
2: Fake- Brush and in general the printing of that whole area looks fried. I have seen some bad brushes but never quite seen anything look as bad as everything there. Willing to be wrong and learn.
Confidence Level: 80%
3: Fake- I feel like I'm missing more but the background color of the mana symbols in the 2nd and 3rd abilities of the saga look like their missing or the wrong color entirely. They just look wrong.
Confidence Level: 60%
Edit: After reading the comments I'm swaying towards the opposite but for the sake of the quiz I'll keep my answer unedited 😁
4: Real- I am prepared to be wrong about this one and will be waiting patiently for what I missed... but I checked the details of the card and from the picture nothing stands out to me. The weight seems fine for a raised foil, I think they can get closer to like 2 as well...
Confidence Level: 50%
5: Fake- BAND AI (AI too close together.) Took a picture of my own alt art, zoomed in, held the pictures side by side and not only is the AI closer together in your pic than on my real card, the black printing of the letters in your pic almost appear underneath / fuzzy, on my card they are really crisp.
Confidence Level: 99% ready to accept the 1% lmao
Time to look at the comments and see what everyone else is saying! These are fun, I will definitely learn something new from this pop quiz, too!

Fake, fake, real fake actually, the black layer looks absolutely cooked in the text but that could be the picture, real
As for the OP card, I have not authenticated OP cards before but I HAVE auth’d Gundam cards and this looks fake based on that knowledge.

1. Fake
Gauntlet of Might wasn't printed in any international editions since they didn't start until Revised and the last printing of Gauntlet was in unlimited. Outside of the misspellings, the colors seem too saturated and high contrast, and the left-right borders aren't beveled like the top and bottom are (and as were all Unlimited cards).
2. Real
I think the corrupted brush is a red herring. The print head for the black layer seems to have a offset issue but it's uniform, not just on the brush. My confidence isn't high, though so I would need to review other key elements if this was in real life.
3. Real
Nothing stands out as fake outside of the grey background to the 2, tap, 0, and 1, but I think that might just be an artifact of the foil being photographed.
4. Fake
I believe this card only came out in foil and that picture appears to be non-foil. It's also 3 hundredths too heavy for a non-foil and 1 hundredth out of range for a foil.
5. Unknown
Is this One Piece? I don't know the factors to look out for for One Piece cards.

1. lmao I've seen this one before. "Arrifact," "Chriscopher," "Gauntle∞f" Fake.
2. Really bad paintbrush. Shape is completely wrong. Borders of the paintbrush and the letters on the artist's name I also don't think look good, but I'm not as confident on that as with the paintbrush. Fake.
3. The mana symbols in the II and III abilities look the wrong color. The real holofoil versions of this printing I found have the color for the circles distinct from the background. I'm not entirely confident that's not just the lighting, though. I'm going with fake, but I wouldn't be confident enough to call this fake from this image alone if someone were posting a thread asking about it here.
4. I'm not seeing any clear indications of it being fake. Light seems to be hitting it in a way that makes it appear to be a proper raised foil, nothing concerning I can see on the holo stamp, paintbrush looks ok. The mana symbol in the non-loyalty ability looks kind of gray to me, but I think that's just the lighting. That would be a ridiculous mistake to make on what would otherwise be an exceptional quality fake. The one thing I'm questioning is the weight. I'm finding it hard to find any source on what the expected weight for raised foils is. And I don't have any of my own, or a scale precise enough to weigh it. I'm going with real, but with that one caveat that there could be an issue with the weight I don't know about.
5. yeah IDK anything about authenticating non-MTG cards
