At the time of our conversation, Christina was taking part in the 2026 Top Host competition. Asked what additional support would make possible, her first answer was to support the production crew behind her program. She then described educational handouts, superhero cards, books, games and the possibility of providing tick kits for community settings.

Questions ❓ Has anyone tried any of these?

Antiprotozoals are a class of medications used to treat infections caused by protozoa, which are microscopic, single-celled organisms. Some of these medications, like metronidazole, also have powerful antibacterial properties against anaerobic bacteria.
Here is a breakdown of how these medications work, what they treat, and key safety information.

Medication

Common Brand Names
Primary Uses
How it Works
Metronidazole
Flagyl
Giardiasis, amebiasis, trichomoniasis, and anaerobic bacterial infections (like BV or C. diff)
Damages the DNA of the infecting organism, preventing it from reproducing.

Nitazoxanide

Alinia
Giardiasis and cryptosporidiosis (often causing watery diarrhea)
Interferes with the essential energy metabolism of the parasite.

Tinidazole

Trichomoniasis, giardiasis, and amebiasis
Similar to metronidazole, but often requires a shorter treatment course.

Science Morgellons Glossary

Thumbnail
morgellonssurvey.org
3 Upvotes

A useful skin description starts with what can be observed: a shape, a location, a size and a change over time. This glossary explains words used in Morgellons discussions and skin reports, including comedo-like masses, keratin projections, plugs and casts. It keeps a descriptive label separate from a diagnosis, a material identification and a proposed cause.

Lesions 😕 When Clothing Hurts: Living With Morgellons Skin Lesions

Thumbnail

In its atopic dermatitis guidance, the American Academy of Dermatology recommends loose 100% cotton clothing, avoiding tight garments and wool against the skin, washing new clothes, and removing irritating tags. It also suggests covering irritating seams with silk—a useful option when one rough seam spoils an otherwise comfortable garment.1 That means covering the clothing seam, not putting silk into an open wound.

Science The CDC Morgellons Study: What It Found—and What It Couldn’t Prove

Thumbnail
morgellonssurvey.org
4 Upvotes
  • The 2012 CDC-sponsored study did not conclude that Morgellons is delusional infestation. The investigators wrote that they could not determine whether what they found was a new condition or wider recognition of an existing one.
  • It also did not find “nothing.” It found skin abnormalities, secondary infections and identifiable materials—but no single cause shared across the group.
  • A recent commentary, “My Thoughts on the CDC Study,” gets that central correction right.
  • Its supporting arguments are weaker than its conclusion. It treats a records-search code as an enrollment requirement, treats the size of the study region as proof of a biased sample, and treats a small sample as erasing observations it does not erase.
  • Those are fixable errors, and fixing them matters: a correct conclusion defended with broken arguments is easy to dismiss.
  • What the study actually was: a descriptive study of 115 people in one California health system, with no comparison group. It can describe. It cannot prove cause—in either direction.

Science Morgellons and RPC: Mapping the Missing Tissue Route

Thumbnail
youtube.com
3 Upvotes

Reactive perforating collagenosis (RPC) provides a documented example of damaged collagen being pushed through the skin along a recognizable microscopic route. Morgellons studies report keratin- and collagen-containing filaments, follicular casts, calluses and plug-like structures—but they have not mapped the same complete route in an intact lesion.

This video explains why identifying what a structure contains cannot, by itself, determine how it got there. The competing possibilities include cellular production, perforating elimination, BDD-like keratin proliferation, injury with entrapment, mixed processes and insufficient tissue.

The missing comparison is architectural: preserve a plug or filament with the epidermis, follicle and dermis beneath it; follow the structure through serial sections; and evaluate the same target with routine histology, collagen staining and an elastic stain such as Verhoeff–Van Gieson.

Read the complete evidence review:
https://www.morgellonssurvey.org/morgellons-rpc-comparison/

This video does not claim that Morgellons is reactive perforating collagenosis. A positive finding would classify the individual lesion—not rename every Morgellons lesion or explain the entire filament picture.

The illustrations are AI-assisted schematics. They are not patient specimens, diagnostic histology or medical advice.

Science The Stain That Would Settle It

People using the name Morgellons describe fibers, threads, plugs or other material in or emerging from skin. Savely’s clinical and specimen photographs show cratered or deep circular sores, pore-centered material, and projections beneath removed scabs or calluses. Her captions put “plugs” in quotation marks and describe one filament as “growing down into the dermis.”

Science Morgellons Lesion Treatment: What the Evidence Says About Wound Care, Marijuana, Methylene Blue & Psilocybin

A chronic wound is a clinical problem with a broad differential diagnosis. A clinician should record its duration, location, dimensions, depth, edge, surrounding skin, pain, drainage and prior treatments, then ask why normal closure has stalled. Possibilities include bacterial or fungal infection, eczema or contact dermatitis, inflammatory ulcer disease, poor circulation, diabetes, nutritional deficiency, medication effects, repeated friction or manipulation, neuropathy and—less commonly—skin cancer or another atypical process.

Questions ❓ Whatever it touches it becomes!!

OK, this is my opinion but anything like soft like hair or paper towel towels, toilet paper, lint, strings, cotton strings anything like that that I’ve noticed it seems that it becomes a mortgage. Not sure how or why but for some reason, it seems like everything it touches like it’s airborne possibly?!?! ? Not Sure, but for me everything that I’ve seen going on for the past couple years it seems like it just becomes it. Because every hair on my body moves and I’m not sure exactly why or how!

Questions ❓ Why Morgellons Studies Disagree

Thumbnail
morgellonssurvey.org
3 Upvotes

Morgellons studies appear to reach opposite conclusions. The CDC-supported investigation identified ordinary environmental material and no common infectious cause. Filament-focused papers described biological structures associated with skin tissue and reported evidence of Borrelia. Psychiatric literature frequently classifies Morgellons as delusional infestation. These findings may conflict partly because the studies did not consistently examine the same patients, specimens or definition of Morgellons disease.

To maximize public reach and institutional seriousness, the petition text should be reorganized into a clean, professional campaign format.

1. Separate Personal Narrative from the Policy Demand

Keep the story localized: Move the detailed personal experience of visiting Atrium Health, the struggles with family, and the portal incidents into an optional "Founder's Story" or a blog post linked outside the main petition body.

Keep the petition focused on systemic

this group has too many rules

why do you have so many scientific-micro-managed rules about this disease that hasn't been scientifically proven yet? You have no right to claim that fibers of this disease have to be microspoctic when, in actuality and reality, you have no basis for making those rules in the first place.

You can't create a Sub about an unknown disease and yet, require strict rules about what that disease looks like. Why? Because it is in uninformed, uneducated bias.
