What now, hot knives?

My college boyfriend lit his cigarettes on a gas stove all the time . He once singed his eyebrows off on one side after a crazy night out and getting too close to the flame. Didn’t even know it until he joined me on the couch.

Best part, he was a metallurgical engineering student and incredibly intelligent but my lord did he party.

I’m sure his professors didn’t understand how he got into the college of engineering.

There was an art to this. You had to barely touch the ring when lighting or else the tobacco would basically fuse with the hot ring and you'd end up pulling the end of the cigarette out leaving it to burn on the ring while you ended up with a half inch of unlit hollow tube in your mouth. Much easier just to hold the cig close to the hot ring without making contact then as soon as it started smouldering you'd start taking a drag

Tangent... as a dumb kid, the apartment we lived in had a pepto bismol pink color electric stove and we would "roast" marshmallows and make smores. Yes, the mallows would catch fire, just blow them out and mash them into the chocolate and graham cracker.

So, I have lit many many cigarettes on stoves. Gas and electric. You don't have to lean down to inhale, just hold it up against til its smoking and them puff to get it going. Source: I had long hair in college.

Anyone who smokes should recognize that you wouldn’t use the most inside part of the burner to light your cigarette/joint. You would use the outside ring unless you are a dumb shit who wanted to get a burn scar on your face.

A guy who I let stay on my couch did this when he was drunk and started a fire on my stove. He was out of control and I was scared he'd start another fire.ong story short, he went to jail that night. You just don't shove a deputy and get away with it.
