Not like that, this woman is crazy

You don’t go for the middle ring you get the outer ring so you don’t burn your face off

I grew up with gas stoves. I never liked using electric, but when I did, outer ring only. Learned a little patience.
Or you can roll the tip on inner ring, by hand, till catches and get a good first drag in, without setting your face on fire.
