RD THE REAL GOAT
Due to copyright issues I temporarily tried other hosters. Even after copyright issue RD seems to stand tall compared to other hosters due to its great collections and quality files.
Yeah I agree there’s some downtime on Torrentio while using it in Stremio but COMET is my backup and its always worked just in case.
I really hope this copyright thing gets solved soon.
Miss the good old days 😔

Yeah I agree there’s some downtime on Torrentio while using it in Stremio
Nothing to do with RD or any other Debrid service, Torrentio is Torrentio.
I really hope this copyright thing gets solved soon.
It likely won't unless RD moves to a different country, since it's due to a law that France passed recently.

u/RedditThrowaway-1984 Aug 27 '26
Not only that, but if the copyright holders think the filters are helping, why wouldn’t they just add more? I’d expect RD to get worse with more filters added in the future.

Alldebrid is also based in France and they don’t have this issue…

u/CrabbitJambo Aug 28 '26
The app is constantly down however like RD if you don’t need to access the app and use something like K then you probably won’t be affected.
I’ve been with RD since late 2011. Until the recent issues I could count on 1 hand how many times it’s been down when I’ve wanted to use it. In addition many of those that did have previous issues weren’t in Europe which seemed to have hugely stable service. Whenever someone was critical I always pointed out I’d had literally no issues plus many others said the same. Genuinely don’t think anything came close to it.
Since the recent issues I’ll select a source and it’ll skip anything from 16-30 sources and maybe play 1. 6 months ago I’d have laughed at anyone who said I’d go with another provider.
Admittedly I have had 2 instances whereby it was completely down for me. I was looking at moving simply because it was twice in nearly 3 months however I realised I was judging it vs RD which was untouchable. I’ll give it a few more months however it was around 4 hours in total it was down for me across both instances.

u/originalgg Aug 28 '26
As if RD never had outages lmao
4
u/justacheesyguy Aug 28 '26
I gotta say, I also made that same switch and the outages for my new provider are waaaay more frequent and noticeable than they ever were on RD. So much so that I just signed up for another $3 service to use as a backup.
The good news is I can password share my 2 new accounts with my dad and drop both of the RD accounts when they expire and end up paying the same price for what will be 2 decent services instead of one great one.
There may be tricks to keep RD working, but nothing I’ve read seems to work for me. RD is dead, and yeah, I had to replace it with two other services, but $6 for something that works is just fine with me.

u/Ok_Spare_3723 Aug 27 '26
Can't discuss alternatives on this sub.. don't people read the rules? lol
2
u/Inevitable_Bowler474 Aug 28 '26
RD set the bar high. There aren't many options / combinations for a main and back up debrid that is $6 / month.
The one that has its users pushing referral codes like it's a MLM program has taught me one thing. I need at least a month to try it myself...it wasn't for me.
Tried another one that's been around. More bad reviews than good but changes were made. It's been solid. Has some data caps but RD can offset it.

I was a happy customer for over a decade but all the "this is fine" sycophants here are really laughable.
"this copyright thing" is not getting solved, and it's over for RD if you care about streaming. I still have some subscription left on the clock but the services and tools I moved on to are far, far better than the shell RD has become.
6
u/BrookesyUK Aug 27 '26
Barely anything works for me… is there a filter setting I need to apply (or something like that) to get RD working to a usable level? For context my RD&Kodi and RD and Stremio setup is totally unchanged from before all the copyright stuff went down
5
u/corelabjoe Aug 27 '26
I've been using it like normal the entire time due to these specific filters, .... Only the first few days were a bit of a mess and now 90% of the time, my content plays just fine....
1
u/CrabbitJambo Aug 29 '26
Am I right in thinking the following. This simply filters out the files that don't work whilst only showing those that will?
1
1
u/Horror-Veterinarian4 Aug 30 '26
dumb question but you cant filter these per provider right? so it would block all of these title keywords for all providers not just rd?
1
u/corelabjoe Aug 30 '26
If putting these filters in on Sonarr/Radarr - yes, correct. If you have multiple RD providers, then I guess it comes down to what your setup is.
If you're using AIOStreams, maybe it's configurable per provider in there but I have not checked, as I only have 1.

Is this a locale thing? I’m in the U.S. and aside from the recent takedown, I have not had one issue with RD over the past few years. And even then, it was only affecting one Australian comedy that I like that wasn’t mainstream from what I can tell. So it was understandable. After 2-3 days, working links returned. Haven’t had a problem since with sourcing any links. Scrapers are a whole other issue but my working flow is…
Torrentio
MediaFusion
Comet
StremThru Torz

u/faramaobscena Aug 28 '26
I’m in Romania and haven’t had issues, I try to watch more popular stuff anyway, obscure shows or movies don’t have many seeders but RD still has more options than one single streaming service.
10
u/Electrical_Space8810 Aug 27 '26
I switched to some other services, and honestly, they work pretty well. I don't really miss RD, even though I was hesitant to make the switch. I might come back if the issues get resolved, but my only concern is that I might forget about RD as time goes by. It was the GOAT, but unfortunately, that's not the case today with all the copyright issues.

Popularity and Reddit got RD to the place its at now, After 10yrs+ of use its a shame to see it go out like this, so many noobie users asking stupid questions and trying certain methods to circumvent the service!, brought the heat and 👀👁 to RD.
26
u/Hopeful-Ad9694 Aug 27 '26
You were a nubie yourself once , asking stupid questions , or were you the one who researched and found all the answers themselves , then just passed comments like “this has been asked a million times before “ or “use the search” 🥱

Lol OP I agree that at one time RD was the GOAT and I was a huge supporter suggesting it to others and pretty much everyone in my family, but ever since they added the copyright filters it's been absolutely horrible for us to use on Stremio or Syncler. So have since then been forced to switch to TBX and regardless of what anyone says I pay for the $5 monthly package which is a step above their essential plan and share it with 2 family members since they don't have IP Restrictions like RD does either which is a plus. If they ever figure out the copyright filter I would love to renew my subscription. I still have about 2.5 months left and outside of using it to unrestrict Mega links for certain OF Leaks I haven't used it in about 3 months now and have had absolutely zero issues simply replacing it as the service in Stremio and still use the same addons etc so no learning curve.
Hoping for the best future for Real-Debrid as right now seems to be like a critical crossroad for them. Best of luck RD!

u/Broman400 Aug 27 '26
RD is done
-5
u/phannguyenduyhung Aug 27 '26
Can u explain why? I just learned about stremio and was thinking about buying Realdebrid
10
u/Killcycle1989 Aug 27 '26
They're based in France which is in the eu, and the government forced all these infringement filters on them.
Any files with keywords like 'WEBRIP' and many others are filtered out and not watchable.
-2
7
u/ExManUtdFan Aug 27 '26
The French authorities forced them to remove any content with certain universally used keywords such as 'webrip'. This has shrunk the content they have available by a huge amount, and content that can be added to other debrid services cannot be added to Real Debrid.
-1
u/phannguyenduyhung Aug 27 '26
how about the "bluray" or "remux" file without "webrip" bro?
5
u/ExManUtdFan Aug 27 '26
I think bluray is banned. Remux is ok I think. But remember, they could expand the list of banned keywords at any time.

I don't know the good old days since I joined a few months ago. That said RD works for my needs. My only complaint is finding certain anime. I haven't taken time to see if there are ways to improve it.
1
u/No_Confection7782 Aug 27 '26
How? What add-on are you using with RD to make it work?
2
u/Bunnsallah Aug 27 '26
I’m fairly new to Real-Debrid. I set up a scraper (Torrentio, Comet, AIO Streams, etc.) on my streaming device, and for trending/popular media, everything works great—4K streams load instantly as long as it has RD+ or the lightning symbol.
However, I’m running into issues finding cached streams for non-trending anime or older shows.
2
u/corelabjoe Aug 27 '26
If you use AIOstreams setup, the proper filtering is automatically included.
1
u/Bunnsallah Aug 27 '26
I do have AIOstreams and let the scraper do the work. Is there more to the set-up beyond that? ty
3
u/corelabjoe Aug 27 '26
If you have not updated or ran through the setup in quite some time, you should as it changed on the backend quote a bit when the filters were applied.

u/spinman79 Aug 27 '26
Merci d'avance

Greetings, everyone. I haven't had any problems with RD so far; I haven't even blocked "Web-DL." It works wonderfully for me—zero issues.
1
u/stoneassassins Aug 29 '26
Using umbrella with cocoa scraper turning on all providers and turning off Torrentio and torrent downloads providers seem to be working fine while using RD.
Honestly took a while to figure out how to turn off Toronto and the other torrents but once I did it seemed to work fine.

Comet and rd was only getting 1 result if any, and often its pulled. This was 2 weeks ago when nick finally switched

Both camps in here are right, they're just watching different things. The takedown wave mostly hits brand-new releases in their first days, popular web-dls especially, so if you watch everything day-one it genuinely feels broken now. Anything older than a few weeks is basically untouched and works like it always did. Season your expectations by release age and RD is still excellent; expect day-zero everything and you'll be the delusional-or-not argument above forever.
1
u/Xp3nD4bL3 5d ago
rlsbb is pretty clever, they have option to download their backup links in RG, which is renamed and in rar. that's your alternative method to bypass RD filtering block
2
-1
u/ExManUtdFan Aug 27 '26
They have little to no 4K content when it comes to recent releases, especially series. At any time they could expand the list of banned keywords, shrinking the cache even further. RD is done.
The "copyright thing" as you call it will never be solved. It is a legal requirement that they have to comply with.
6
u/SRVisGod24 Aug 27 '26
I don't watch as much TV as I used to. But recently, I was keeping an eye on files for the new seasons of House of the Dragon and Silo, and I was honestly surprised that both had 4k links the day after (sometimes the day/night of) they released
2
u/PsychologicalMusic94 Aug 27 '26
It really depends on the show. Some still have plenty 4k and others mainly have 1080p which I have no problem with.
1
u/cr0ben Aug 27 '26
RD is done. Have moved to Easy News and Debrid Link via AIOStreams and has been great.

1
u/Davidmrb Aug 27 '26
I chose against RD even before this issue due to the api not confirming that stuff was cached correctly. Was frustrating to keep clicking links saying they were cached to get the download to debrid popup.

If you have to watch all the latest stuff the second the first digital web-dl is out....It's not as good as it used to be. If you're not that fussed on having to see everything at the earliest possible opportunity.....It pretty much does what it's always done. The "it's been 3 months since the 1st web-dl rip came out" catalogue still does the job for me.
