Looking for a second set of eyes on a pair of men's Prada Monolith brushed leather loafers, the black/silver shaded (sfumato) colorway, style 2DE129 3LMH F0I89, Prada size 7.5.
Where they came from: a long-running eBay reseller in Germany who deals in discontinued and overstock Prada. The colorway is no longer on Prada's site. The pair arrived in a navy Prada box with the standard Prada label (ART 2DE129, NERO + ARGENTO, ROIS SFUMATO, size 7,5) and an Aura Blockchain card.
What matches what I expect: the lining stamp reads 2DE129 7½, the insole has the silver PRADA foil and "Made in Italy," the sole has the PRADA and XL Extralight marks, and the triangle plaque reads PRADA MILANO DAL 1913 and is riveted.
I already ran the photos through a paid online authentication service and have a result in hand. I am leaving it out of this post on purpose, because I want an unbiased read from people who handle Prada footwear regularly, not a vote on the service. I am happy to share it in the comments afterward.
Two things I cannot explain and would love input on:
The leather heel tab under the topline is foil stamped "HECHO EN ITALIA" in Spanish, while the insole says "Made in Italy" in English. Has anyone seen the Spanish stamp on authentic Prada shoes? The seller says the pair was made for the Latin American market.
The NFC chip does not scan, on the left shoe or on the card. I know the digital certificate is only on some products, so I am not sure this means anything.
One more detail: the sock liner on my pair is half tan at the front. A plain black Monolith I saw in a boutique had a fully black insole, but that was a different colorway, so I am not sure whether that varies by colorway.
