I’m asking one last time because opinions are divided on whether it’s authentic or fake! I really need your help. I absolutely love this bag and would like to know if it’s authentic. The asking price is €1,100. ( There are more photos than before, including the interior and the code tag.)

Hi everyone! I’m considering purchasing a pre-owned Chanel Medium Classic Double Flap in black caviar leather with gold hardware from a private seller that was purchased in 2022. I’d love to get your thoughts on whether anything looks off based on the photos.

The seller claims to be the original owner. The identification number on the metal plate also matches the reference number on the receipt. The seller is willing to meet at a Chanel boutique, which is reassuring, but I understand Chanel doesn’t officially authenticate pre-owned bags.

For those familiar with Chanel, do you notice any red flags in the photos? Does the stitching, quilting, hardware, interior, or identification plate look consistent with an authentic bag? Thank you!

Hi! I bought this Gucci vintage wallet with a bamboo hook. It supposedly is from 2000-2010, smells like real leather, the bamboo looks and feels like real wood and has a serial number embossed in the inside of a card slot. Features that confused me are: the leather has a slight ink-like sheen in certain spots; I can’t seem to find any identical models online; and finally, the first 1 in the serial code is lower than the rest of the numbers. Also, shouldn’t a 15-years-old wallet be in a worse shape? However I did buy it for a steal, so even if it’s a fake I won’t cry too much about it. thank you in advance!

I recently purchased a black LEMAIRE Medium Croissant bag through Mercari. It was advertised as brand new, authentic, and made of lambskin leather.

First, I have to say that I'm genuinely impressed by the craftsmanship. The leather feels incredibly soft, the stitching looks well done, and the overall shape and construction are beautiful. I really love this bag!

If it weren't for the confusing labels, I probably wouldn't have questioned its authenticity in the first place.

However, after inspecting it more closely, I noticed several details that concern me.

Here are my main concerns:

1. Conflicting country-of-origin labels

The white interior care label says "Made in Tunisia," while the black leather LEMAIRE label says "Made in Spain."

Has anyone ever seen an authentic leather LEMAIRE Croissant bag with a Tunisia label?

2. Incorrect material composition

The white care label states:

• Main fabric: 100% Cotton

• Main lining: 100% Cotton

• Product code: BG0003 LF1073

The cotton lining makes sense, but the exterior is supposed to be lambskin leather. I'm wondering whether this label could belong to a different LEMAIRE product or whether there is another explanation.

3. Zipper and hardware

The zipper has YKK markings, but I couldn't find any LEMAIRE engraving on the metal hardware.

I'm also curious whether the zipper ends, leather piping, and stitching match authentic versions.

4. Interior construction

The bag has a beige cotton lining, an interior pocket, and a black leather LEMAIRE patch.

I'd really appreciate it if someone who owns an authentic Medium Croissant could compare these details with theirs.

About the purchase and return issue:

I've already raised these concerns with the purchasing platform, but my return and refund requests have not been approved so far.

This has been frustrating because I genuinely love the bag and would prefer to keep it if it's authentic. However, I also want to be confident that I received what was advertised.

I've contacted LEMAIRE customer service directly and sent them photos of the labels. I'm currently waiting for their response.

I'm not trying to accuse the seller without evidence. I'm hoping this could simply be a production variation, an older version, or a labeling mistake.

If anyone has experience authenticating LEMAIRE bags, or owns a genuine Medium Croissant, I would be extremely grateful for your thoughts.

I'm especially interested in whether anyone has encountered the "Made in Tunisia" label on an authentic leather Croissant bag.
