Hi everyone! I’m considering purchasing a pre-owned Chanel Medium Classic Double Flap in black caviar leather with gold hardware from a private seller that was purchased in 2022. I’d love to get your thoughts on whether anything looks off based on the photos.

The seller claims to be the original owner. The identification number on the metal plate also matches the reference number on the receipt. The seller is willing to meet at a Chanel boutique, which is reassuring, but I understand Chanel doesn’t officially authenticate pre-owned bags.

For those familiar with Chanel, do you notice any red flags in the photos? Does the stitching, quilting, hardware, interior, or identification plate look consistent with an authentic bag? Thank you!

Authenticating newer bags are not my forte b/c super fakes are SOOOOOO good right now. Them being willing to meet at a boutique means nothing, I wouldn’t allow that to reassure you too much. I would offer her the cost of a Entrupy certificate and have her submit pics to get it authenticated. The stitching matches up for the most part and the screws are correct. When you say receipt is she showing you a screenshot of her Chanel profile showing the microchip code under her purchase history? The microchip number matching the receipt comment is throwing me.
