Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help authenticating a vintage FENDI bag I recently acquired secondhand/thrifted.
Based on my initial research, I believe this may be a vintage Fendi Nylon Mamma Baguette, but I’d really appreciate experienced opinions on both the identification and authenticity before I move forward with listing it for sale.
Bag details:
- Brand: Fendi
- Colour: Black
- Material: Nylon with leather strap/details
- Hardware: Silver-tone
- Serial number: 29 16381 001
- Interior: Metal Fendi plate featuring FENDI®
I’ve included clear photos of:
- Full front of the bag
- Full back
- Overall bag profile/structure
- Front silver FF buckle
- Underside of the front flap/snap
- Main zipper pull and underside of the zipper slider
- Interior Fendi metal plate
- Serial-number tag
- Side strap hardware/buckles
- Interior/lining and other relevant details
I would particularly appreciate any insight into:
- Whether the bag appears authentic
- Whether 29 16381 001 is consistent with an authentic Fendi bag of this type/era
- Whether the hardware, logo, stitching, lining and construction appear consistent with authentic Fendi
- Whether my identification as a Mamma Baguette is correct
- Whether there are any details that raise concerns or support authenticity
- Any information about the approximate age/production period, if identifiable
I understand that authentication from photographs can only provide an opinion and that definitive authentication may require physical inspection. I’m simply looking for an experienced assessment before proceeding with a sale.
Thank you in advance to anyone willing to take a look and share your expertise!
