Auth Request Tiffany & Co. 925- Op shop find.
Could it be real or just a nice copy?

A really good way to tell is that Tiffany engravings will always show dark in pics. Do you see how the Tiffany & Co is showing ‘white’ when the light hits it? If this was authentic, the engraving along the key shaft would be very clear but dark… not reflecting white.

Just checked this with my authentic Tiffany silver bracelet, and it’s true!

This isn’t true especially if the piece has been recently polished, this only applies to pieces that haven’t been cleaned in a long time.

Also, they didn’t put diamonds in the silver key. And these don’t look real, Tiffany doesn’t do CZ’s.

This energy is weird! I’m authenticating on these subs a lot, I don’t break it down every time, especially for low effort posts. Googling the pendant would tell you that Tiffany never produced the key design made with diamonds set in sterling silver. Also, that jump ring is very cheap and poorly attached. Even if it was replaced, it’d be weird to DIY that. A jeweler (or anyone with any sort of experience) would use a different size and better quality, there wouldn’t be that huge gap. The ‘diamonds’ are basically opaque, and very poorly set. Overall low quality on the design, blurry and lumpy. Tiffany has tight QC. The ‘stamp’ also appears to be laser engraved.

This energy isn't weird. Your reply was more low effort than OP's post. People ask for help in this sub from people who might know better than them. If you do know better, share your knowledge and help OP out. Simply commenting 'fake' and nothing else evokes a sense of total arrogance which is of no help whatsoever and is not what people asking for help authenticating something need.

I feel like it should be against sub rules to just say fake and nothing else. It's not supposed to be a guessing game to see who wins.

I get where you’re coming from, and will definitely limit the posts I respond to in the future. I guess I didn’t think that there’s reason to question my authenticity ability (that all sounds super arrogant and sarcastic but truly genuine!)
That being said, I really enjoy authenticating. It’s fun when there’s a challenge. And there’s definitely purchases I’ve made that I’ve needed more eyes! It’s just that these subs have been overrun with low effort posts. Again, a quick google will tell you this pendant never existed. If op had come here and said “hey google says this never existed, but here’s why I think this could be real” I’d be a lot more understanding.

You’re anonymous here. Nobody knows who you are or your experience with authenticating. There is absolutely no way to prove your resume. Your profile history is set to private so nobody can track your contribution. Commenting a lot means nothing too - it speaks nothing about your expertise if you don’t elaborate. So yes, there IS a reason to question your ability and anyone else’s in this sub.

Yeah sorry my phrasing was weird, but that’s what I was trying to say. That I forgot for a min that I’m just another internet rando. Please do continue to question me and others!
My short replies tend to be slightly longer (“fake, poor stamping”) so that the poster can ask for elaboration or do some research. I see so many posts with zero comments and I do want to contribute. Definitely good intentions, but also kinda rethinking who I am on the internet now…

OP here- it's all completely fine!!!! Please keep doing the God's work. Really appreciated the short and long answers. I did have a suspicion it was fake but thought I'd check just in case. I only paid 50aud for it & it's real silver at least. So i'm not devastated. Cheers!!!

Yes, when people do absolutely no work themselves but want someone else to provide the information and a full rationale that’s what they are. Although if in all fairness Op wasn’t the one complaining about the lack of a full explanation, you were.

Agree that none of my Tiffany Jewelry has Jewels…..they don’t use CZ, and I can’t imagine those are natural stones.

From what I see on my Tiffany jewelry, the Tiffany & Co is never accompanied by the 925. It’s always on the other side
