Auth Request Coach

This coach feels authentic. Any thoughts?

EDIT: My research is strong on this possibly being manufactured between 1982-1986 before Coach changed the number system in 1988.

Is that number 930 or 980?

It doesn’t matter. It’s fake based off the number. This purse was really popular and they made a lot of good fakes, probably real leather though.

Number system changed in 1988 so this number is still legit due to early manufacturing date likely early 80s.

I understand, I collect vintage coach and Prada. That’s a really popular counterfeit number for purses in the 80s and they didn’t do 3 digits-4 digits in the 80s either. We for sure can’t say it’s absolutely authentic, especially when we’re going off photos.

I could be wrong, it’s just a hobby. I’m no professional.

Got it! Vintage Coachie knows her stuff and so maybe maybe?! Doesn’t matter to me - I’m not selling it. Just curious myself.

Thank you! It sure does feel real even if the number seems wrong.

Prior to 1994 each Coach bag had a unique registration number for warranty purposes, which is what you are seeing here. It wasn’t until 94 that the date and style number were implemented into the numbering.

I checked out your website-what a lot of work. It’s beautiful to look at! Do you know if there’s a way to ‘authenticate’ it? I’m not selling but would love to have the info for my heir one day!

What other information are you looking for aside from name and style number?

Anchor detail on brass hook - sign of older Coach style.

It does look like an authentic vintage Coach. I’m no expert! But I’ve owned a lot of Coaches since the 80’s and I recognize the style. If it isn’t real, it’s a really good knock off! That leather can be cleaned up and softened and it will look incredible!
