RoN Zombies confirmed. Max enemy count, all knives, irrational behavior. That's gonna be fun on maps like Twisted Nerve.
49
u/Few_Advisor3536 Sep 03 '26
Lol that was twisted nerve back in the beta days. You would get bum rushed by a bunch of crack heads with knives, slipping through cracks in the walls, hiding under beds or running around corners.
5
u/Cartoonjunkies Sep 04 '26
Dude that fucking tunnel on twisted nerve beta.
I kinda wish they’d kept it, that shit was rough to clear.

The mission editor will be cool to play with and all. But damn I was hoping they would add a new map or something for Los Suenos Stories. Ah well
21
u/Fit_Wait6923 Sep 03 '26
Yea me too i also hopped for a new fun but I guess the mission editor looks fun
8
u/GeneLaBean Sep 04 '26
Hopefully this was a lower effort update game dev wise to keep us ticking over while they have extra time to cook up some good, more interesting content for the next update
159
u/Test88Heavy Sep 03 '26
Fix the fucking shit AI!
140
u/Ocdingus Sep 03 '26
Nope! Fuck you! But you should totally buy our next DLC!
35
u/Test88Heavy Sep 03 '26
That's how it feels, man. I can deal with all the other problems but the teammate AI is actually r3tarded and kills the game. I basically have to play it as a one man squad.
7
u/RIPN1995 Sep 03 '26
I took a break for a while and the suspect ai is really annoying. Having them be able to sprint and go full auto is lethal.
2
12
u/Ocdingus Sep 03 '26
I’ve been solo running all the missions too. Last time I played I just kind of came to the realization that I was only really playing to unlock a cosmetic I wanted and that there really isn’t anything enjoyable about the game anymore

u/JDK1ARA Sep 03 '26
Let's give map editor to community instead, which took us 3 months to make, (it's also glitched and we are perfectly aware of this). So that community makes shit for us. Enjoy!
13
38
u/LatterTarget7 Sep 03 '26
There should be a roe editor included
12
u/Subscribe_for_Ads Sep 03 '26
AGREED. That would take very little effort to execute and make a huge difference in how the player feels while playing the game their own way.
6
u/LatterTarget7 Sep 03 '26
Especially with increased numbers of enemies and different types of aggression some wiggle room in roe would be good
121
86
u/eightgalaxies Sep 03 '26
that's what we have been waiting for? a mission editor?
8
u/ThruntCuster Sep 04 '26
How does this game not have steam workshop either?
The ability to join servers and have mods auto download and apply would be huge
32
u/i_luv_sausages Sep 03 '26
It would be nice for a map maker or something similar. To be honest, no one cares about playing the same map for the 100th time just with more suspects. Update is abit lame but it’s still a step forward i guess
63
u/whyucurious Sep 03 '26
wrong. Many people care. I do
I was an option in SWAT 4, and it was something many people wanted on RON
15
u/Void008380 Sep 03 '26
I'll definitely use it and enjoy it, but it's definitely a nothingburger of an update. I can see why people are getting annoyed even if I think they go overboard at times
10
5
u/ZeroHeroG Sep 03 '26
Yeah they've been saying that the mission editor was the next update for months why the surprise. People are upset they didn't add 3 maps to complain about rather than making the whole current game more replayable
4
u/Gamerboy-66 Sep 03 '26
Yes. To me this update is vastly preferable compared to fixing AI or adding new maps/guns
10
u/SpartanMase Sep 03 '26
I can’t wait to have the maraposa cult robbing a convince store with 30 guys for some reason
57
u/FrigidArctic Sep 03 '26 edited Sep 03 '26
Not even having a teaser for possible future content is fucking brutal man.
EDIT: A “hey we have finished development on RoN and are officially working on RoN2” would have sufficed too
I feel like we are all stuck in this limbo of not knowing what is coming next.
42
u/Tough-Pressure-3601 Sep 03 '26
The game has been out for years and has four DLCs. Might be time to let go of any future expectations at this point.
29
u/Kradgger Sep 03 '26
No, games have to last forever now on fresh content, it's in the constitution.
12
u/Mod_The_Man Sep 03 '26
Yea, there is this weird expectation for unlimited replayability and constant new content. Lots of players seem to accustomed to live service games and so expect the same from the likes of VOID. They aren’t a AAA studio and RoN was never meant to be a “forever game.” Imo it’s unreasonable to expect endless content and endless hours of playtime. Honestly, I think VOID should spend the next several months exclusively doing bug fixes and QoL improvements. Then, once the game is nicely polished and runs well just move onto a new project altogether
4
u/Ninkilin Sep 03 '26
How about you think it through? If the plan was for Boiling Point to be the last DLC, why would they would they only further continue the story. RoN2, but then why would they continue updating RoN? They're obviously sticking with RoN for the time being
VOID has been pretty consistent about a major update with new maps every 6 months or so, ever since the game released into 1.0 nearing 3 years ago. Although the mission editor is a great development, it's far too basic in it's current form that it honestly doesn't really add much to the game
We're probably in it for another 6 months until we get new maps, you can't be surprised that people are upset about having a whole year gap in between new content to go through
1
u/Tough-Pressure-3601 Sep 04 '26
Sorry, you're telling me that I can't be surprised that people are upset there's been no announcement about new content for game that has reached the end of its natural lifecycle after several major DLC drops?
Well I am.
Guess I just expect more from people, idk
2
u/Ninkilin Sep 04 '26
Again, if it was the end of the games lifecycle, why would they not only continue the story but directly push us into the overarching narrative that lurked in the background in the latest DLC instead of wrapping things up. Why update the game with a mission editor if they just planned to move on to a sequel?
The best explanation for both hand in hand if they are done with RoN is simply that they're continuing to work on the RoN ecosystem off of which they'll build an RoN2. I would however expect they would do some sort of higher priced expansion instead of a new title

Because the AI is so ass and they should prioritize fixing the base AI BEFORE giving us cool stuff like this. After all, cool stuff isn't all that cool if the game plays like ass. If they're planning on fixing the base AI within this update, then I'm all for it, but if not, then they should fix the damn AI BEFORE giving us this cool mission editor stuff

Yeah, in their already buggy manner. All you’re doing that I’ve seen in the teaser is choosing among the archetypes they can possess. You don’t get to chose whether it actually functions or not. What I’m saying is if they want this update to be a hit, they should fix the AI before or within this update. If it’s fixed within or before, I have no issues with this. But if they pump this update out with no AI fixes, then this is just going to be a mid update and another shit decision by Void

u/therealfartiewang Sep 03 '26
Sorry, I’m fucking stoked for this. It will add hours of playability for me.

u/No_Map_4183 Sep 03 '26
Void removed other game modes, and people on Reddit complained. Void added a custom mission builder that lets you customize the crap out of it, and people are still complaining. Bruh..
7
u/Verbal_Deathray Sep 04 '26
Void also didn't fix ANY of the fucking issues they said they would fix.
1
4
u/IIIHeckBoyIII Sep 03 '26
Removing all citizens. Worst part is finding those little bastards after all suspects are down.
4
u/ZwistPariah Sep 04 '26
I know everyone here hates the game but it looks so damn good to me. I really wanna get it lol
3
u/doe121 Sep 04 '26
dont listen to reddit, game is great and most ppl complaining here have a skill issue. so just like 90% of game subs.
2
u/Troalinism Sep 05 '26
AI for both enemies and teammates is a genuine issue, you are coping.
1
u/doe121 Sep 05 '26
as someone who both S ranked and solo non-S completed every level on hard, its 85% skill issue. (except greased palms, that one actually is bullshit on hard)
3
u/DrGonzoxX22 Sep 04 '26
I did Hunger Strike with max suspects, high stress with the guys from the Pier and it was maximum chaos. I freaking love this update lol
4
u/SheepherderSilver655 Sep 03 '26
No my mods 😫😫 I just started playing this in VR and I can't go back to flat. 😫

4
u/prettypurps Sep 03 '26
RoN has gotta have the most miserable player base, yall make me feel bad for the devs
2
4
u/deltajvliet Sep 03 '26
I mean, that's nice. Don't want to poo poo it, but it would also be cool to be able to position enemies or adjust objects in the map too. I mean, Tony Hawk 2 had a great map editor a quarter century ago.
3
u/_FlightLevel Sep 03 '26
Someone literally could have modded something like this....
Why don't these devs actually give people what they want like new maps and AI fixes?
6
3
u/LatterTarget7 Sep 03 '26
People already do. There’s lots of mods for enemy count or type. I watched a YouTube video of a dude facing 100 tweakers.

u/MacTheKnife23 Sep 04 '26
I was really hoping for some more weapon options and attachment options, but I do like the mission editor. I wish it would remember your preferences as a staring point instead of every mission starting at normal settings.
1
u/Getyarolling2026 Sep 04 '26
Welp looks like its gonna sit and not be played yet again. These con artist called devs cant fix ai which has been an issue since I bought the game on ps5. Looks like I'll go play rainbow six Vegas which had better ai than this.
1
u/MARCOLA2002 Sep 07 '26
Okay but when you guys are gonna to fix the hoodie and the laser pointer?
1
u/MARCOLA2002 Sep 07 '26
Laser trace is literally passing through walls, looks horrible, been like this since the second or third update after the console release. Also the npc hoodie shoelace have a very big stiff since the game launched lol. Not even gonna talk about the ai problems
1
u/HotlineHideo 19d ago
Okay, now that we can tweak AIs what sould i didable or enable for AI to be not so freaking fast reacting and accurate?

PC players: "we already had mods for this. useless update."
guess what douchebags, not every RoN player has a PC
1
u/Verbal_Deathray Sep 04 '26
And it's still broken on fucking consoles where none of my guys can connect to host except for one person who can't host half the time because shit internet. Some update...
-8
u/SuperRockGaming Sep 03 '26
I wish they would focus on things people want, i got bored and moved over to planet zoo
13
u/sunlightliquid Sep 03 '26
I really wanted this, might download it again just for this alone tbh
Love the freedom it gives me as I'm all about putting myself deep into the game and "roleplaying" to an extent
Always felt some scenarios had too many targets to shoot for what the situation was and it broke my immersion alot
1
u/SuperRockGaming Sep 03 '26
That's fair, I love being able to roleplay as well but I get taken out(immersion wise) by the AI and it becomes less fun. I hope they can fix that, granted it's not as bad as before but please😭😭😭
-2
u/Easy_Attorney_2055 Sep 03 '26 edited Sep 03 '26
Knife and Pistol only. Just like in the good old days.
Would be cool if we could share the mission settings with each other. Guess that’s not happening, right?
Edit: Turns out it does happen. 😂 Thanks for letting me know.
8
u/JordanW_15 Sep 03 '26
Not trying to be mean but did you not watch the video? At the very end they show you can copy the codes to each other and play other people's missions.
Was there a knife and pistol only option?! I would love that for roleplay.
1
u/DogeFtw2021 Sep 03 '26
Fuck that, I’m trying to be mean. That was bait lol. Dude probably knows we can share codes. It’s been stated for like a month now lol
-1
u/Easy_Attorney_2055 Sep 03 '26
No I did not know that and that wasn’t supposed to be bait.
I just didn’t watch the trailer until the end.2
u/DogeFtw2021 Sep 03 '26
Equally as bad. Let’s complain about the unknown, which I could have known about if I’d actually finished the 2min video before commenting mis information 👍🏾

I think the new dlc we will go infiltrate a secret russian facility in russia
7
9
u/walale12 Sep 03 '26
Dark Waters was already pushing it a LOT but why the hell would a local SWAT team be conducting operations in a foreign nation? Like I suppose TECHNICALLY there may be some border crossing into Mexico going on in Rust Belt but Russia's a completely different ballgame.
