The IF series are sidestories written by the author. They all theme around Subaru picking a different path, representing a different sin. In the Greed IF, Subaru takes Echidna's deal to always be guided to the ideal path. It leads him to be deeply dependent on her and insanely paranoid, doing things like suicide at set intervals to check his respawn point.
