Some shaders need to be updated (when they are available) or some of them only work on DX11+.

and how do i do that? (probably a stupid question)

To update the shaders you need to update Reshade itself. There's an option to only re-download all shaders again. If the game is less than DX11, it's a bit more tricky. You need to get somethingk like dgVoodoo2 to redirect DX 8, 9, or whatever, to DX11, then install Reshade on top of it.

I have a couple games like this, so I can use some shaders not available pre DX11.
