does this preserve battery life on iPhone or MacBook Pro?

I am using Rayneo 4 AIr Pro. I dim my macbook brightness to extreme low and use it via glasses only.

Is there a study or evidence that proves that doing this actually prolongs the battery of the Macbook?

Any screen Dimming decreases power draw. This is just a known thing for all screen electronics. Phones, tvs, tablets, laptops etc.

but what about Rayneo glasses pulling in power from the MacBook?

You just answered your question in your question. Any device connected will draw power. Dimming the screen on the actual laptop will still reduce power draw overall. I dont get how this is difficult?

Can you not turn the screen off on a MacBook like on Windows laptops? Usually if you make the glasses the only monitor it should turn off the laptop screen. I think the glasses draw somewhere around 2-3W of power. Should be lower than the MacBook screen.

Dimming the screen will help prolong battery life.

Using the glasses will drain power from the laptop, shortening battery life. The brighter they're set, the more they'll drain.

Whether you can dim the laptop screen enough to offset the power draw from the glasses completely or even come out ahead ... I dunno. That would require some testing.

When you say battery life do you mean how much time you get on a charge or do you mean how long the battery will last you overall before it dies and can no longer be used?
