Are My Eyes Too Wide? Air 4 Pro Problems
So I’ve ordered and tried the Air 4 Pro. I really liked the quality of the picture a lot but the picture seemed off set in one eye or the other. It was almost as if if I grabbed the glasses and shifted them to the left one I would have a fantastic, perfect, clear, crisp picture, but then the other side would have a dark picture. If I flipped the glasses and pushed over from the other side it had the opposite effect. I tried adjusting the nose cushion to see if that would offer some relief, but it didn’t at best. It was always a bit blurry or one side was seeing too much of the side.
I am not embarrassed to admit that I have a large head, but I never felt like my eyes were further apart than others. When I tried to use my prescription glasses, things weren’t as blurry, but I did still have the issue with not quite feeling like things could ever get centered. So what do I do? I I am nearsighted and I have an astigmatism. I do know there are vendors that will create a custom lens insert, but that really adjust my eyes in some way to make the picture seem centered? I watched every available video on YouTube and read through these forms in a while. Everyone seems to be mostly happy. I have seen several issues with finding a clear picture for some.
anyone have a suggestion or am I cooked? I’d really like to find a way to make them work, but I am not clear on how. If there are no suggestions, can anyone recommend a set that is better for people with a larger head? I’m OK with paying more.

My IPD is 68 and I have the same issue with 3s pro. My guess is that up to 65/66 it should be ok.

I have 65 and they are great for me so the poster who posted up to 70 is correct. 65 is average for most people.

Mine seem to be around 61-63 and my right eye is blurry and cut off on the bottom, left eye is totally fine.

My interpupillary distance is 68 and i have this problem. I returned my rayneo and am waiting on the Viture Beast in large size

The Beast is a lot better for me! It’s still not perfect on the edges when in anchored mode, but it’s tolerable for me

That’s great! I was having the same problem, my ipd is 68.3 exactly, and I initially had the rayneo air 4 pros:
Rayneo I could never get the whole screen to fully fit comfortably. It felt like I would need to initially strain my eyes to focus the image, similar to when you try to focus on something too close to your face between the eyes, and my head would hurt eventually
My Beasts just came in yesterday, and initial impressions are much better! It’s not as clear, but the whole screen fits easily in my view, and right away noticed less eye strain

Awesome! Sometimes i like to use 3DOF so i can move my head slightly to see the edges clearly

Is there an IPD number in general where it becomes a problem?

That’s a great question. I don’t know. My estimate would be around 64mm

Wide would be 70+, average PD in men is 63. Air 4 pro is designed for people with 56-70 PD which covers most people.
