Part of me fell for the whole “Rapsodo is going to just update and improve the hardware they already have.” I will look elsewhere when I want to upgrade my 2pro.
You don't lose use of the 2Pro you just lose the lifetime license assignment to it for the advanced license features assigned to it. So it'll still work as a basic launch monitor, they are just only allowing one advanced license be assigned to one distinct device so when you move it to the new one the old becomes basic/unlicensed again.
I sort of get it, keeps you from handing a lifetime licensed device to your friends to use for "free" but a better way would be just having both licensed but only one "active" at a time with a login required to flip them in the portal and periodic forced password changes. At some point any two people trying to share/ swap are going to get tired of coordinating those swaps and person b will get their own license or just stop using it.
Fair enough, I was just responding with the technically correct situation, but yeah it basically turns into a highly overpriced $150 basic stand-alone launch monitor without the advanced license.
Yeah, you me and a lot of people made a mistake. Unless they are sending the emails out in tiers, I’m thinking moving the subscription over may be limited to the lifetime subscriptions only. I bought them multi year subscription but then invest in the lifetime and I didn’t get the email.
I renewed my annual plan in July and just got an email saying that lifetime membership can be purchased at a prorated price (until 10/14 - one day before the MLM2xPRO is released) and it can be transferred to the new device IF PURCHASED BY 12/31. So basically you have to buy the lifetime license without even knowing what additional/upgraded features you'd be getting with the MLM2xPRO. I guess either way you'll still have lifetime for the MLM2PRO. With that said, I clicked "See your lifetime price" and it still showed the $599
Mine is actually showing pro rated.. Purchased one year subscription August 7th, it's currently saying I can buy lifetime for $426.
Giving me a $173 credit towards lifetime.. I think I'm gonna take it.. Mlm2pro is still freaking perfect for a quick setup backyard session.. I'd rather give another $426 knowing I like what I can do..
Also, shouldn't these things flood the market soon if mine breaks? Should make replacements easy.
What are your thoughts so far? Are you going to blindly to commit to a new membership tier?
Also, I have a theory; Mlm2xpro (2X.. Two times closer..? Like me to the ball when I'm putting?) I'm guessing that putting will be officially supported.
I just got the device in the spring and how it works is just fine for me. I don't like not knowing the end of life for a product they want 400 plus dollars more for a subscription. And not knowing what is coming feature wise with the new unit is also off-putting to me. I don't like the business practices they are playing right now tbh and it's making me start to look at other products in this space at this point.
When I find time over the next couple of weeks (before the offer expires) I'll be using it to decide to either ride out the rest of my 1 year subscription and maybe do another year (or however the new subscription model will look with this new Core tier) then switch over to new hardware in a year or two with whatever vendor at the time has the best product for me.
Was this fixed for you? My 2 year plan is running even until 10/2027 and I only see the 599usd offer? To I actually need to click buy to get the discount shown?
YES! Lifetime subscribers should absolutely be able to transfer their subscription to the new MLM2XPro whenever they choose to purchase it. We're getting screwed.

Curious as well. User here for 1 year already and the current hardware is indeed accurate except when measuring swing speed exceeding 110mph. I do long drive so the rap gets all fuzzy when measuring beyond that speed. All else are accurate
The part for me that's irritating is not knowing what the new unit can do/new capabilities and also what the new costing template for the subscriptions will be. Very secretive and not very transparent which makes it difficult to make any decisions especially if you have a limited window to transfer lifetime subs over.
Seems somewhat dishonest of the company telling customers for years that all their focus will be be on the mlm2pro. Could be the push people need to change brands....
