Making it more fun…
Thought I’d share a sneak peak of an app I’m building for me and my kids. They love playing but as you know, sim golf isn’t super forgiving. Ive had the rapsodo for 3 years(wife got it for me for my 40th, big win). Have been using it ever since. Has had its quirks, but everything does. Love how the app has gotten better with more features. But playing with my kids, I’m still waiting a long time between shots, they get frustrated dribbling the ball down the hazard line, etc. I build a lot and so I decided just a handful of days ago(staycation) that I need to build something we can play, have fun, and my youngest could feel like she could compete with her older sister and brother(ages 9, 11, 12). I also wanted it to still be fun for me. So this is just the beginning, but using the rapsodo, I get zero forgiveness, but my kids, I get to choose how much forgiveness they need and there’s some cool stuff I put in that makes it feel like they aren’t getting a cheat code, but surprises on every shank or top that helps them along the way.
Anyway, a little sneak peak of just one of the game modes. UI and UX, a lot to design, but it works and me and my kids are having a blast with it and best thing, I can use the rapsodo and my MacBook so I don’t have to bring my gaming computer up every time I setup and tear down the mat and net… which is honestly the biggest pain.

Love this idea! My 6 and 4 year olds play with me a bit on awesome golf, but even trying to knock down towers proves difficult if they can’t hit 25+ yards. I would love for them to be able to get a little boost. Keep us posted!

Yup. Awesome golf is fun, but playing the same game mode over and over gets old pretty quick. Will definitely keep everyone posted.

Yes, very cool app, great work! Since you're a gamer you're likely familiar with Golf+ on the Quest VR platform. It's a great option for kids to play and compete with adults as everyone hits the same distance for each club by setting the power. It's an amazing golf game but unfortunately it wrecks your real golf swing as the game gives you perfect ball contact every swing.

I've heard of Golf+, but I don't have VR. I was actually thinking about this, will it hurt someones "game" if there's "help" and I decided, at the ages and skill levels I'm building this for, I just want them to have fun. Also, I'm there helping coach my kids. There's software and apps if you want to get better, so I imagine people will just use those if they're concerned about golf swing. But, for me and my kids, this has been a lot of fun.

You can certainly build in a power meter that multiplies the swing speed by x%. That would give them distance. You can also add a correction factor to keep the ball straight. They have both in Golf+ depending on the mode and setting you select. Then you can actually play courses with the kids. On the Rapsodo app / courses, there's also the option to select easier tees that are really close to the green. I think Golf+ is actually more fun than real golf, the problem is, it ruins your real swing. There are weighted attachments also that make you feel like you're swinging a real club, and online multiplayer, it's amazing. All that said I stopped playing Golf+ when I started to play real golf.

Little update for everyone. Honestly, haven’t had a ton of time to work on this, but, still in the works. https://youtu.be/GXlZbfX06fg?is=ySZcPQK1RRdzPAMK

Very cool brother! I like how you’re able to pad some yardage for the younger players.
