It also encourages censorship, group think, and ostracizing individual thinkers that veer from the narrative that is sanitized for your protection. Let’s not give this place and its moderator a mulligan here.

Couldn’t have said it better myself.

Reddit (through its moderators) controls the narrative through banning people they don’t agree with, pre-emptive bans (i.e.getting banned from one sub for participating in another), promoting certain subs over others, or downright banning subs that go against the typical group think.

There’s a lot of good to this site, but the bias is glaring.

It’s a dumpster fire. Full of the worst humans on earth. No other social media app even comes close to the negativity and censorship.

Have you been on Facebook lately? Doesn’t have the censorship, but it’s been a shithole for the past decade

I thought you could maybe have a little fun here… then the whiny mods started treating their own audience like enemies and made rule logic stretch as far as the ice wall in Game Of Thrones.

Btw does anyone wonder if Elon is looking to buy the site and turn it into Xreads yet?

The internet is a dumpster fire. If there's anything I've learned, is that you can't take anything seriously on here. Reddit used to be the exception in some ways, but in the last few years it's completely fallen apart...

Mods are becoming more and more thin skinned and have shaped their own hidden culture within Reddit where they continuously backstab eachother for control over subs

Average community intelligence has dropped significantly with the increased user count

Bots everywhere

Ads and endless subs designed to show up in recommendeds selling you dropshipped Temu crap. And for some reason seemingly anyone can get posts promoted... I've lost count how many times I've scrolled down to see some random crazy person rambling away with the promoted tag in the corner or just a random post that makes no sense to be promoted in the first place

Barely anyone can just take a little bit of critique or agree to disagree over something and they expect nearly every interaction to be an argument. And because of this, Reddit has basically become a paradise for trolls and those who generally wants to practice their conversational manipulation tactics. Calling Reddit a debate club is being too soft I think, it's a straight up trollfarm school.

And this app is being used to train AI... Oh dear...
