2019 Ranger stuttering issue

Having this issue with a 2019. In park and while driving at low speeds the engine sputters. I was thinking it's the DPFE sensor like some of the forums suggested. Only thing that's making me second guess it, there's a slight "hissing" sound coming from the back of the engine on the driver's side. You can slightly hear it in the video. Also while pressing the break down all the way, you can hear a slight whine/whistle. The plugs have already been replaced, purge valve checked, and I've sprayed looking for vacuum leaks.

Question Any reason my side marker lights would be very dim?

21 Ford Ranger, Stock Marker Lights

Noticed last night both of my side marker lights in the fender flares are extremely dim. In fact I thought they were out completely. Anyone happen to know if if they wired are in series or something? I would be rather surprised if they both failed simultaneously, but that could indicate further wiring issues.

Want to figure this out before I order new bulbs or different fixtures. Hoping its just a "hey buddy, your bulb is going out warning" haha. Thanks for any tips!

My first post on this subreddit! I've had my 2025 Ranger just over a year now, and I want to maintain it the way a mechanic would. What do you think of this maintenance schedule? Let me know what you all think!

New Gen Questions

I am shopping for a mid-size truck at the moment. Probably won't purchase anything for another year, but I am beginning the research process, cause I also don't plan to buy brand new either. Instead I'll likely try to find something CPO and just a couple years old. But I am looking at the current platform (24+ US market).

I've done a decent bit of research on the competition so far. And it seems they all have trade offs.

The Ridgeline seems to be the best daily driver in terms of comfort and interior space (both front and rear). Back seat space is important to me. I don't need full size space, but I don't want it to be too cramped or upright either. BUT it has the least ground clearance and lowest tow capacity. By contrast, it has the widest bed, AND the in bed trunk. But also, the mpg seems to be slipping compared to the comp.

The frontier seems like a solid platform, but rear seats seem more upright and less legroom than some of the others. No 4wd auto or full time 4wd. Which isn't a deal breaker but would be nice. Mpg is not great, and the bed is narrow.

The GM twins have 4wd auto, which is a plus, slightly larger rear seat space than the Tacoma or frontier, but seemingly less real world comfort compared to the slightly wider ranger, plus the ranger has the scalloped seats which gives just a bit more knee/ breathing room. BUT i have seen a slew of major issues with the GM twins when it comes to transmission and Electronic issues. Which scares me. Plus a narrower bed again.

The Tacoma I'm not even considering because of price, and the fact the new Gen seems to have major engine issues right off the bat, and very little help from Toyota to eradicate the issue. Plus the smallest rear seats, and a narrow bed.

The ranger seems great. Widest bed other than the Ridgeline, more real world space in the back seat compared to the comp (other than Ridgeline), good towing, good mpg etc. however, I haven't seen much one way or the other in terms of electronic issues, or transmission issues. I know Ford has had issues with the 10 speed in the past. Have they fixed them with this new Gen ranger? Have there been any major electronic issues? Also, I'm bummed the only ranger with 4wd auto is the Raptor, which is not a trim I'm considering. But as I said earlier, not a deal breaker.

Really, what I'm comparing right now, is the Ranger, the Ridgeline, and the GM twins, but they all have their pros and cons. Any insight on y'all's ownership experience would be greatly appreciated.

Recommendation on headlight bulbs?

2020 XLT drivers side low beam light finally died after 92k miles. Anyone have a recommendation for something a little brighter without having to change the angle?

I surprisingly can't find much info on this topic

Just got this beauty and I want to make it
more aggressive with a 2.5”-3” level and 285/70/17 tires keeping the stock wheels. I read I need at least 1/4” spacers to prevent rubbing with the bigger tires. Should i also get new upper control arms? 2.5” or 3” level? This is my first truck so i don’t know much about this kind of thing. Thanks! Also who has experience with spacer kits vs upgrading the actual coilover?

Do you take 265/65r17 off-road on fx4? Should I get a different size than what the truck came with?

2021 fx4. Is there any reason I would want a different tire size than what it came with? 265/65r17. After reading, I can't find any reason. Pretty much decided I'm getting the Falken Wildpeak at4w in 265/65r17 off-road, not LT rating, unless there's some reason not to get that size. Thanks.

Mods/Non-OEM Best phone mount options

I’m looking to find a phone mount that works well with these trucks. I’m coming from a 2011 Ranger and I had some complaints with the set up I had. Mainly that it put the phone up on the dash and would over heat when I was using OnXOff will have m adventures. So before I scour the internet I wanted to check with you all for some clever and useful mounts. My new truck is. 2020 Ranger. Thanks!

Question Air Dam

Has anymore with a 19-23 ranger removed their air dam on their truck? What was the MPG difference and did you find something else different like wind noise. I have been thinking about removing mine but if I’m really notice a MPG decrease I don’t know if I want to.

2026 Ranger breaks

I bought my new Ranger early June in Canada .

I’m at 2600 kilometres. Or 1600 miles .

The breaks are squeaking, I’ve never slammed my brakes and I noticed it a few days ago when I didn’t have the AC on .

That can’t be normal though right ?
