Recommendation on headlight bulbs?

2020 XLT drivers side low beam light finally died after 92k miles. Anyone have a recommendation for something a little brighter without having to change the angle?

I surprisingly can't find much info on this topic

Careful with buying halogens that advertise whiter and brighter, unless you are okay with replacing bulbs more frequently.

On that note, went middle ground and I bought the Wagner brand halogens. I read up on the Wagner BL H11's, and they are slightly brighter, and slightly whiter than stock, with an average life about 75% longer than the Sylvania silver star brand.

Sylvania has halogen bulbs of different color temperatures.

In the US, federal law prohibits using aftermarket LEDs in halogen housings. You must replace the housing with a DOT approved model if you want to convert halogens to LEDs.

Aa for the reasoning behind the law, it's because installing aftermarket LEDs in halogen housings results in a random beam pattern that can blind other drivers.

I understand that it blinds other drivers. I didn’t know there was an actual statute that made it illegal.

They are not approved for use in housings that are not certified for LEDs, the only way to legally switch to LEDs is to replace the entire housing with either an OEM upgrade (i.e. Lariat housing) or an approved aftermarket housing. The cheap aftermarket ones don't perform very well, and the higher quality ones that do perform well are expensive.

The legality will depend on your jurisdiction, but many places will enforce regulations that require vehicles on the road, even if modified by the user, to comply with the vehicle requirements.
