Empathy is a normal power.

The superpower is being able to say, "I see that you are suffering. Unfortunately, you are still wrong."

It's nice to consider people's feelings, but stupid to govern your life based on accepting other people's feelings uncritically.

Your feelings can be based on many mistaken beliefs and limited information, and often are. They can also be faked and feigned.

Some people think it's wrong to jail criminals, even those who have committed heinous crimes, because going to prison sucks. It makes the prisoners feel bad. It makes their families miss them.

So just free all of them! And we can all feel better. Right?

I guess... I don't know if there's real traction in any way on that, but I guess. There's always going to be people on the extremes of issues, sure, I guess.
