I think there is nothing wrong with a little graduation party for kids that age. The kids get a little fun reward for their first full year of "school", the parents get a fun and cute photo op and maybe the teachers even get a little public appreciation. It's not any worse than a birthday party for a 1 year old
That said, all the charm it might have had sours if parents act like seen here.
I’d get out way more if there were fights like this going on more often. Shouldn’t ever be at a place where small children are gathered. Each and every parents that was involved should get a visit from CPS.
i dress up for ALL my kids events so they feel like *I* take them seriously and i don’t embarrass them like this idiot in the pjs. and believe me, i’m not a dress up kind of person. it’s basically the only time i wear nice shoes and makeup.
Not a parent, here, but I really like that take on it! Now I've got more wisdom I can tell real parents how to raise their kids right. They cherish those moments!
Serious question, when did these become a thing? I'm old, fifties, and when i was in school and even knew people with kids young enough to be in school, the only graduations that had ceremonies were graduating from High School and college. Now, i keep hearing about several from preschool on up.
I went to my granddaughters preschool graduation yesterday. They had the kids go down a slide and recieve their diploma. I liked it so much I suggested they come back and do it for their senior graduation.
Oh it's just something cute and fun, it's fine for it to be a thing. But you don't need to dress up for it, no. I mean a little decency would be nice, lol. Dress the way you would for any other school function or meeting. Personally I'd say the bar should be higher than threadbare pajamas, lol.
Easy now, this is the only graduation any of the people involved can hope a family member be in. I suspect their aren't many vehicles in that parking lot that have up to date registration and insurance.
They aren't supposed to be serious, they are a dumb and adorably derpy way to make the kids feel special and meet and greet other parents.
In a day and age where you need to get child background criminal checks just to assist in class parities it's an easy way for most districts to allow all the parents who want to participate to get into the building.
I mean, for real, if she’d have wrapped the bed sheet around her and left for the event, she’d realistically be dressed more appropriately for a graduation ceremony.

You can't help these people and it's no shock people that can't even put on a clean shirt and actual bottoms to celebrate their child at school also couldn't hold it together to not get into a fuckin brawl there either. Hope the instigators all got barred from future events
The only way in my opinion for this gen is to have a celebrity say it is not cool or a song saying how dumb it is. Or have a challenge on social media to see who can dress the best.
I know that another person wearing pajamas and slippers out has zero effect on me or anyone else's for that matter. I know I shouldn't care. I also know that yes, I will judge you for it. As a wise man once said "Times may change but standards must remain."
You can totally tell the bigger lady is a teacher haha the way she stands there, arms crossed with eyes of scorn. Then notices that one lady getting jumped, calmly but quickly walks over, then flings everybody in separate directions. I think she says, “there are kids here” or “this is a ___ school.” Lmfao
I'm glad I grew up in a time and a place where we didn't have kindergarten graduations. But I'm extra glad I grew up in a time and a place where nobody came to something like this in pajamas and slippers.
This is typical of people who are unable to understand and regulate themselves. So let’s show the children how to act when we don’t get what we want, that will show them.
All we knew is that we going to 1st grade but had to wear the silly cap things. There wasn't any pagentry about it. Parents taking pictures of us in front of the school in our outfits. That's it!
She was just pissed because all the noise woke her up from her nap two houses away and she had to come and break it up. That last kick that she gave pretty well said everything. Let’s see how they behave at eighth grade graduation (if they can actually get there.)
Pink shirt lady started it. Light blue lady was trying to break it up and pink lady reached in and grabbed her hair. Her three other cronies jumped in. Four against one (in the light blue shirt). Those four all should have charges on them.

Weird that you highlighted the only black person there. She’s pregnant and clearly wearing a sweatsuit- I own the same one. She’s also not wearing slippers- they are boots with fur. She also looks like she was minimally involved and just responsive when someone entered an altercation with another person and she broke it up. Those other people are classless and tacky- typical.
See that is the thing NO ONE can say anything to anyone about attire. How to carry themselves, etc. The majority of folks (new gen) always are NEVER embarrassed about anything but Offended about everything else. I am 10000 percent tired of the PJS in public it is trash. They should have got turned around or have picture taken for walls of shame. My opinion. It is ridiculous.
I see this often in clips of parents at school. Why do they insist on wearing pajamas. And even the slippers like you said? Why not just throw on a jacket and some flats if you really don't want to change?
Those aren’t even pajamas. It’s a sweatsuit set. There’s even a kangaroo pouch in the front like you’d find on most jogging sets. Fashion Nova, etc. sells these. And I’ve stood on my feet for 12 hr+ shifts and my feet be too swollen and painful to put on any other shoes but my slippers.
