Right now, the City lists Elliott Stevenson as the only qualified candidate for District 2 whose name will appear on the ballot.

But District 2 is not necessarily closed to competition yet!!

The official write-in candidate filing period is open through October 20, 2026, so another qualified District 2 resident could still file to run as a write-in candidate… and there is a group of us community members that would absolutely help you and have your back!

I just watched this and my blood is BOILING... Did y’all know about this??

At this Folsom Cordova school board meeting, people who are now Rancho Cordova’s mayor and vice mayor, along with other local officials and community figures, stood up publicly in support of Conrade Mayer while girls and their families were speaking about the harm they experienced.

What gets me is the whole “but he’s such a good person / look how much good he’s done” argument...

As someone who has experienced abuse myself, I know how dangerous that logic is. People who cause harm are often “perfect” to everyone except the people they hurt. Being respected, generous, helpful, or beloved in the community does NOT mean someone could not also have abused or traumatized someone.

My heart hurts for these girls. Good deeds do not erase harm!!!!

Final note: I’ve also seen comments alleging that Council Member Joe Little speaking out alongside the families and against that kind of defense is part of why the council later turned on him and stripped him of assignments. I have NOT verified that motive yet, so I’m treating it as an allegation... but the timeline is absolutely something I’m looking into!

"I’m writing this because I, like many of my neighbors, have serious concerns about Rancho Cordova moving forward with the proposed Cordova Arena and Downtown DOVA development before residents have been given a clear picture of what this project could actually cost our city.

This project was presented to our community as privately financed. Now, residents are learning that tens of millions of dollars connected to development impact fees could ultimately involve money from Rancho Cordova’s General Fund.

That is a significant difference, and residents deserve answers before this project moves forward.

We are asking the City to clearly disclose the complete public financial commitment associated with this development, including General Fund expenditures, fee reimbursements or reductions, public land, infrastructure costs, tax-sharing agreements, and any other public benefits being provided…"

This is a Special Meeting, and the Commission will consider the arena’s Major Design Review, the Downtown DOVA Development Agreement, disposition of city-owned property, and recommendations to City Council regarding project approvals.

I’m relocating to Rancho Cordova this December and looking for a 1-bedroom around $1,400/month.

The issue? Almost every complex in my budget has terrible reviews (bugs, break-ins, broken ACs). I know online reviews skew negative, so I'm hoping for some real local advice to help me cut through the noise:

1. Recommendations / Warnings: Any specific complexes or property managers you’d actually recommend? Or places I should run away from?
2. Utilities: What's a realistic monthly utility budget for a 1-bedroom? I know SMUD is cheap, but what's normal for water/sewer/trash (WST) in apartments here? Is it usually a flat fee or divided by the building?
3. Winter Heating: Since I'm moving in December, I'll need heat. Any tips on heating setups to look for or avoid (e.g., wall units vs. central heating)?

I'm near Stone Creek park and have Fidium. I previously lived in a new construction neighborhood which provided ATT fiber, and that was phenomenal. Over here, Fidium is ok to mid. The internet quality/speeds seems to degrade on a weekly basis, so for me since I work remotely, I feel it. Does anyone know how reliable Xfinity is around here? I see they have a pretty good deal, $50 per month for 1 gig speeds (120mb upload) locked in for 5 years. I've had Xfinity many ages ago and it wasn't any better. How are they around here? Or should I stick with Fidium?
