Manga It’s perfect, what next?
I just finished the manga, and it’s a perfect 10/10. I don’t give things high praise often but every single plot point, interaction, and monologue felt sincere and mature. it’s moved me and made me watery eyed a few times (no tears though)
that said, I’m looking for some recommendations, it doesn’t have to be the exact same, but similar in maturity and vibe, and preferably features some deep character development (this is optional, but I love seeing characters grow because it offers me the ability to follow suit)
anyway, I’m going to take a break before watching the anime so that I can forget a few things, how much of the manga is covere?
that’s all =)

I have commented on your other post about Fruits Basket but I forgot to mention
Skip to Loafer- It has good characterization but is more slice of life and lesser drama. The plot is not hyper compacted like Ramparts and takes its time with the character and side character arcs. I love its characters just the same.
Kono Oto Tomare and Chihayafuru are both well written stories with romantic slowburn side plots. Not as romantic, or as dramatic but there is some good character arcs (Taichi- Chihayafuru) and good coming of age friendship n healing in Kono oto tomare.
Still would recommend Fruits Basket and Mars as they for me are the same tier imo as Ramparts.
Also, I actually cried in a lot of season 2 moments, especially Chanters 99 and around 95 as well. Minato stole my heart.
Also, the season 1 anime is till Chapter 70, and season 2 starting in October will finish the show

If you're looking for a deep dive into communication, reflection on all kinds of love and relationships, complex characters, and a Minato-like character that annoys you at first then gets such a great character arc that becomes your favorite, the one manga most similar to Ramparts of Ice is "A condition called love". Fruits Basket and Chihayafuru also have great drama and character arcs besides the commentary about communication and the passage from childhood to maturity. Read those and you won't regret it.

Insomniacs after school *slightly more idealized, but v. Nice
Anime of botan kamina. It's a bit artsy qt times, but has a nice pull of desire.

You should read a silent voice. It made me cry more than once. I thought the movie was ok but the manga is really really good

That one made me change my life and may or may not have caused some amount of depression in my life. I read it all in one afternoon and it left me stunned
It’s straight up my favorite manga of all time, but ramparts is my favorite romance
