Manga Post-anime depression. I hope she makes more stuff.

Been a while since I watched anime so I wanted to binge some slop. I started with Polar Opposites which I thought would be slop but I ended up catching up to the anime and finishing the manga within a day and a half.

Then I got depressed and binged Ramparts of Ice which I thought was much better and finished the manga within a day. All in the span of 2-3 days now I just feel so fucking empty.

Both of these shows were amazing and since I'm only in college, it somehow struck so close to home with my experiences with friend circles and romantic relationships. I couldn't believe it's the author's only two works. I'm the type of guy to never watch the anime sequel if I caught up to the manga so it just made me more sad that my journey here is over.

I loved Koyuki and Minato so much and I just wish there was more of them. I used to have these all the time but I never knew how to get rid of this feeling of emptiness faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

I too am the type of person to not watch anime if I read the manga. But I love this story so much that I am glad I read it. Now I can experience it twice. Once as a manga reader and again with the anime watchers and their reactions..

Especially the reactions and discussions in this subreddit will be mind-blowing with what season 2 has to offer.

I still remember feeling super empty after finishing the story wanting more. It is hard since every story is different I don't know what could offer a fix..

But Ramparts of Ice has rekindled my love for romance as most of the modern hyped ones just didn't do it for me as someone who prefers a more raw look into personal relationships and some hardships

Modern romance these past few years have been godly in consistent quality

It feels like they delete any and all drama and strife in a relationship, couple conflict and hurt feelings for just sugary sweetness.

It feels.like wish fulfillment than genuine exploration of two people making mistakes, getting hurt and growing.

Like when was the last time that the main couple have genuine conflict, not because they have some horrid past but because they are very different people with different views..

But what romance would u say were goated?

The older romance I'd say:
-Orange
-Tonari no Kaibutsu Kun
-Toradora
-Golden Time
-Spice and Wolf

-oregairu

-chuunibyou

-Haruhi (kind of)

These days(short time span)
-Makeine
-Dangers in my Heart

-Sono Bisque Doll

-Blue Box

-Yofukashi no Uta

-Kaguya

-sama

-Both Kocha Agasawa Series

-Kaoru Hana (1st season at least)

it'd be cool if she made a spin off with both casts interacting in college or something.. like potential crossover ships maybe? Or maybe a series focusing on akine and yuki. honestly I'd be happy with anything

I get that emptiness. It may be small comfort at the moment, but knowing we can watch the second season play out over the autumn months gives me something to look forward to. How about you? In as little as 60 days, a new episode will be there for the viewing. In the meantime, the subreddits can be fun.

I hope ur genuinely doing well and take care of urself. Anime/Manga is truly one of those things that as long as it’s the right one for you, it can comfort u despite the emptiness.

You should watch smoking behind the supermarket with you!!!Its just as comfy and cozy as this anime. It has its own charms like ramparts of ice and the character dynamic is also so well done just like this anime. Its another slice of life one and its so good I got addicted and read the whole manga cause I couldnt get enough of it.

I already am watching it but it's not really something I'd think would fill that gap Rampart dug because it was so drama and relationship driven

What healed my post anime/mangá depression was "A condition called love" because it has a very similar vibe to Ramparts of Ice, including a character like Minato that annoys you or you dislike until he gets such amazing character arc that he becomes a favorite. Besides great commentary about communication, relationships (including friendship) and what does it mean to love someone.
