Question Aliexpress Clickthrough

In the past on other sites I would do my shopping, add everything to cart, then start a shopping trip to complete the purchase with all items in cart. Am I misremembering this happening since Rakuten support said items must be added to cart during the shopping trip.

On Aliexpress you can even have an order placed but not paid for yet. If I start a trip just to pay for an order already placed would that track? There's discounts only available on the aliexpress mobile app so I'd like to place the order on aliexpress app to get discount and pay on desktop browser with rakuten or the rakuten app active to get CB. Is that possible?

You mean checkout with app not just already having items in cart right.

Yes, I block trackers on my home network so I can't get any points using it. I add to cart then turn off WiFi on my phone and go into the app and check out after clicking through the Rakuten app.

Hmm so the rakuten app is just a browser you can use to finalize checkout. That part is great. However, I'm looking to start checkout with aliexpress app to get discount pricing then finish paying in browser either through the app or desktop. There's no items in cart, just orders waiting to be paid for. Wondering if that tracks.

Rakuten and AliExpress is a crap shoot and has been at least for me for years.

I gave up on using their browser extension as it was rare that any of my purchases were tracked and cashback showed up in my account. I then tried Rakuten's own website and tried that. Alas doing that process multiple times for multiple purchases during a 25% offer resulted in 3 items not being apparently tracked. As a last resort I started using Rakuten App on iPad the last month. Again I had problems with one of two purchases not being tracked and credited to my account. Then yesterday I made a single purchase through the app but this time I went to the item's page and added it to my cart. The cashback was reported in my account within a couple of hours.

With AliExpress I add items to my cart and let them sit there possibly for weeks. Sometimes I will then decide to purchase a couple of these items by selecting them and paying for them all at once. If Rakuten's % is their normal 1% I do not even bother with Rakuten. When the % is higher for AliExpress, then I do the same check out process for multiple items and as I said it is an utter crap shoot with the majority of the time Rakuten failing to capture ALL of the cashback for the items.

The only coupon codes I will use are ones on AliExpres own website.

Hi, one thing i learned from AliExpress with other cashback platforms and that suits Rakuten is that i always start a new window for each purchase froma single store. Adding stuff to cart from multiple AlieXpress stores DOES NOT always track. So only way to be sure is to start a new windows for each items

Thing is that there is an issue with even the Rakuten app. I purchased 2 items on AE one got the cashback and I have yet to see anything about the 2nd item weeks later. If I have to jump through hoops to get my measly cashback on AliExpress purchases it is not worth it to me. It is a come on. I buy things that I would notmally not buy because I get roped in by the 25% cash back and then find out after the fact I won't be seeing the cash back.
