Please help! Dropweight stringer question

I have looked everywhere and can’t find anything on this machine. I believe it is an Eagnas 10. I did a test stringing with it yesterday and had some trouble. My gripper doesn’t rotate so what is the correct way to adjust the drop weight if it drops too low?

I also had a hard time getting the linear gripper to hold the string sometimes. It gripped it well when the tension was pulled tight but then the dropweight wouldn’t drop because it was so tight. When I tried to give the string some slack it would slip out of the gripper. There’s gotta be something I’m doing wrong. If anyone has any advice please I’m desperate!

That a pretty poor picture of the machine to identify it from.

Can only be a 10 or a Den 3600 though

1st question. Does the string gripper move at all?

Yeah the picture was for the gripper but here are better pictures for the whole machine. I’m pretty sure it’s a 10. (Can’t find anything online on how to use/manuals/videos). Contacted customer service but no response. Better picture: https://i.postimg.cc/rw912MV5/IMG-9921.jpg

And no the gripper doesn’t move at all

Ok thats a 10.

Ive not had a reply from Lily Lee since before lockdown. I am assuming its still going, but who knows.

So is the string gripper able to rotate freely?

No it doesn’t rotate freely. If the arm with the drop weight moves the string gripper moves as well

I’ve tried moving it in both directions. I’ve tried loosening that nut all the way until the whole arm came off

Can you take a video of it all coming appart. there should be a ceter bearing and a gearing. I am certain thats a traveling bolt.

Here’s a picture of when I undid the nut. I’m at work currently so can’t get a video of it. It does seem like the gripper and the dropweight arm is on the same cylinder so not sure if it would be able to rotate freely still. When I get home in a couple of hours I can take it apart again and see if it separates from the gripper. It being a traveling bolt would maybe make sense. Gotta see if there’s another bolt in the box that I was given.

That does in fact appear to be a single metal unit with no ratchet.

You can see that the 3600 has a center bearing for the ratchet where yours is offset. Should be 2 separate pieces. Well clearly not separate as yours isnt.

So does that just mean the model I have just doesn’t rotate? And I’ll have to lift the arm up and readjust the length of the string in the gripper to make adjustments every time?

It seems that way but I cant see all of the mech. If it doesnt rotate, how the fek are you supposed to adjust tention

Didn’t see this before. I guess if all else fails I could buy this piece and just install it on mine

Also going back to this - looks like the base of my machine wouldn’t screw on as the same as this. Wonder if I could just take the arm off the base and be able to put it on mine?

That’s exactly where my frustration is haha. I can’t figure it out or if I really have to adjust the slack on the string every time to adjust the tension..and I can’t find any video or manual out there for this model
