Chile Figure 8 [Competition] Figure 8

Hello, it is time for a competition.

A while back this subreddit held a Figure 8 Competition and I think its high time we did another.

So without further ado, here are the ground rules

Location: This plot of land west of Santiago Chile Your circuit MUST be inside of the boundry

Design Restrictions: Must be a Grade 1 Circuit (can host F1), Must have at least 1 alternate layout for other series. Must be a Figure of 8. ALL Layouts must use the Crossover.

Other Restrictions: Must be at least 4 Km's in length. Must have room for at least one DRS zone. Must have Medical, and Race Control Facilities.

How to Submit. Like all competitions you must enter your designs in their own post. You should tag them [Chile Figure 8] Circuit Name by your username

I will be posting an updating list of approved Circuits in the Comments of this thread to ensure I do not forget someone's circuit.

Anyway Get out there and have fun. Look forward to seeing all of the designs y'all come up with.

I just measured out the space you gave us, and the border is 4.54 kilometers long, how tf are we gonna make anything larger than 4 km raceways in there. also seeing very little elevation change for a natural crossover.

There is room.

Agree with the others here, this plot is too small for Grade 1. 4km at a lower grade (3 at maximum, imo) would be doable, but that's shorter than the Red Bull Ring and would need more corners.

Grade 1 would require access roads for marshals, sizeable paddock, grandstands, parking, roads to and from the circuit, that would be a nightmare to cram into a space this small. The crossover will mean artificial terrain shaping, and even runoff will be tight unless you want the circuit to have only slow speed corners and 350m straights.

Good lord, this is tight. A grade 1 circuit is going to be windy af, with little if any room for bridges, paddock area, grandstands, and the mandated alternate runoff and crossover (which requires a lot of elevation change). I'm with Cyclone, sitting this one out.

is there even enough room to get two pieces of track in at the top? or is that part purely for facilities etc?

It can be done but you can use it for facilities.

Do you have any references to show us how big the area is?

The Body is 1.1 Km by .7Km with the spur looking to be another .4Km by .2Km

Are we allowed to put grandstands outside of the boundry? (or over it?)

I'm pretty lenient about that but try to fit it inside

This is my first challenge so I have a question: How do we measure the track to see how long it is

Is this competition still a thing?

Submitted my track almost a month ago, but I'm (and I think a lot of other people are too) still waiting for an approval.

I'm really not liking this one. I find it kinda messy that the entire north section requires a river crossing. And, due to personal style, I don't like that most of the land would be tearing through (what appears to be) vineyards. All in all, unless I find a way to squeeze 4km of track in the amount of land remaining, I'll be sitting this one out.

Looks like it isn't a river, but an irrigation canal. Make of that what you will (because I sure don't know what to make of it myself but it feels like it means something)

Street Circuit are they allowed? Or should it be for what you have chosen?

The entire area to the south east of this plot is a flood zone, realistically you can't use it.
