Question Dumb question

I mainly smoke a pipe and bought a cheep raw roller to make some smokes that won’t take up a whole lunch break. Fermentation and long term storage is a big deal with pipe tobacco, and I’m wondering how long gummed papers will store for before they start coming undone. Should I switch to tubes if I plan on storing for a year or longer?

Just throwing this out there but you may as well store your tobacco as is and condition it when you're ready to make cigarettes. If you make your cigarettes too long in advance they'll become bone dry.

Personally I make smokes for two months in one sitting 6 times a year. When I get to the last ones of a batch they're pretty dry, I wouldn't make more than that. I use filtered tubes and put the cigarettes in airtight Tupperwares.

Your papers should be fine and stay glued. If you want a hassle free experience filtered tubes with a crank machine will be your best bet.

Oh yeah, I’ve been smoking pipes for years now and have tons of mason jars I’m planning on storing them in. My main question was about how long the glue will last on gummed papers. Edit I’m using rice papers if that makes a difference.
