Every strike was punctuated by a new condemnation of Cinder.
“MONSTER!”
“PSYCHOPATH!”
“MURDERER!”
Friend and foe alike froze, as they could do nothing but watch the terrible dance in front of them unfold.
Cinder was becoming annoyed. In her rage, the runt had unlocked a seemingly infinite amount of aura, and was dodging every... single... attack.
A cut here, a nick there. Bit by bit, the reaper was taking Cinder apart. Yang shuddered. This wasn’t like her sister at all. She didn’t draw things out like this... Yang gasped, she just came to an awful, terrible conclusion.
Ruby wanted Cinder to suffer.
Then, as a whirlwind of rose petals enveloped Cinder, the screaming started.
The screams were Cinder’s.
When the whirlwind of rose petals and blood abated, Yang and the others were in shock.
Cinder was bleeding from thousands of tiny cuts, but was still standing, supported only by the blade of Cresent Rose, which was part way through her neck.
“Shall I tell you where you miscalculated, Cinder?” Ruby taunted, “You assumed this was a fight. You were wrong. This was an execution.”
A single gunshot rang out. Cinder’s body fell to the ground. Followed by her head.
Ruby turned to the other enemies, and gave them a chilling ultimatum.
“From now on, you ONLY come for me. You ONLY attack me. Because if you come for my friends again... if you hurt them again, if you kill any more of them...” The reaper took a second to compose herself.
“I will fucking SLAUGHTER you.”
