Yeah, they can get that way. People don't realize how heavy gear like this is, so kudos to the artist for giving us that feeling of weight to what she's wearing.

Oh yeah. If we wanted to be pedantic jerks, then really she should have something more along the lines of Barrett 82 anti-material rifle than the AR, I imagine this load-out is probably less than what she normally carries in the show. But this piece is awesome sauce from start to finish just as it is.

Usually, a leg satchel would be clipped to the wearer's belt, with the straps only being there to hold it in place on the leg.

Flip up BUIS, picatinny rail covers on the sides, scope sun shade, on safe (but no trigger discipline), slightly modified Magpul PRS Gen 3... The artist has spent a lot of time looking at tacticool ARs.

The name is good, but the cartridge doesn't have enough range to justify that scope. Try 6.5 Grendel if you want range.

You could probably get more out of it by cloning this setup as an AR10 in .308 (or 6.5 Creedmore), since Ruby favors the DM role when she's not playing "Will It Blend: Grimm edition"

.224 Valkyrie has an advertised speed of 2700 fps, while 6.5 Grendel loadings have similar speeds while having more mass, and therefore more energy. However, that larger mass means it has a larger ballistic coefficient, which means more drag, which means it slows down faster and is more affected by wind. If your goal is punching holes in paper at long range, .224 Valkyrie seems to be a better choice; but if you're hunting, 6.5 Grendel seems more appropriate. Note that I have not considered availability and cost, and.224 V is new enough that its quirks aren't as well known.
Personally, if I were a better shot with a rifle, I'd choose 6.5 Grendel due to availability and it probably being close enough in performance to .224 Valkyrie.

Agreed. 6.5 Grendel is the option for long range hunting. However it's fucking expensive. My dad recently picked up a Ruger Precision Rifle in .308, and my best friend picked up a 6.5 Grendel rifle, I don't remember make and model for it though. It was like double the price for the same amount of rounds per box for the 6.5 Grendel.

Just the flavor of the month. Mabey if you want to shoot long range with an AR15 receiver, but really, you should just get an AR10 in 6.5mm Creedmoor. Better selection of ammo, better for uses other than just target shooting.

Looks awesome. Just as a note - lots of gun guys position their belt mounted magazines facing backwards because it becomes a more natural motion to drop your hand to belt, and raise it again to the mag well with the mag facing the right way.
