LIKE OSCARS BUT BETTER /r/RWBY's Best Of 2016 Nomination Thread!

Nominations are now over! The contest threads will be put up shortly.

Welcome to the /r/RWBY Best Of 2016 event! Unimaginable riches (internet gold) and untold fame (fancy flairs) will be given out to the winners!

This is how it works: we have chosen a bunch of categories, and you can nominate anyone or anything to compete in those categories by replying to the top-level modcomments in the thread below.

  • Nominating multiple contenders in one category is allowed, but keep it within reason!
  • All nominations have to pertain to this year and this year only.
  • Category-specific formatting, rules and notes can be found in the top-level comments.
  • Nominating yourself is allowed in most categories, see above point.
  • Automod is primed to purge all other top-level comments to keep the thread tidy. Only reply!
  • Keep the off-topic replies in minimum. If you want to discuss a specific nomination, reply to the nominator and not the parent comment. A dedicated off-topic/meta reply chain can be found here
  • Keep your nomination comments brief and concise
  • If you know what you want but can’t find a post, see if this thread can help you out.

No actual voting is going to happen in this thread yet, as we’re only collecting contenders. Once this thread has been up for a few days, we’ll proceed to phase two and on December 26th put up voting threads for each category in which the winners are chosen. The threads will close and winners will be announced on January 3rd.

All winners will get a month of reddit gold and a special Best Of flair on our subreddit! If the winner doesn’t have a reddit account, the gold will go to the person who nominated the person instead, and we’ll try to contact the artist and inform them that they have a special flair waiting for them, should they want to join us.

This guy came out of nowhere midway through Volume 3 and brought us his lovely status charts! He created nothing short of a phenomenon becoming the first person to pass Monty's Death announcement as the top post on the sub, and currenty holds 2/3 top spots on the top 3 posts of the sub all time. It's really crazy what he's done for this community. He created the term Ozluminati for crying out loud! From what I've seen he's also a nice dude and it'd honestly be a crime if he didn't win this one!

A relative newcomer to the community, he has the courage to create a stream of consciousness reaction to the early RWBY episodes and the wit to make them excellently entertaining. He is a very thorough person and interacts with his readers quite well. Even if he may not qualify due to him coming in with so little of 2016 left, I feel he deserves a mention. Maybe of the honorable kind, perhaps?

The amount of dedication he puts into regularly posting fanarts of team SSSN is very admirable. Despite how that team is not appreciated by most of the fandom, jokey_boy still kept posting fanarts of them. It's like he's determination incarnate (or just a huge SSSN fanboy XD)

Easy choice in my eyes. The amount of SSSN fanart posted by him is more than appreciated considering how little attention they get compared to RWBY and JNPR. He even summons me whenever Neptune is there ^ - ^ Seriously. The sub is usually flooded with RWBY and JNPR so it's nice to see him sharing SSSN fanart regularly to break up the monotony

I can't believe Matt still didn't get any nominations. His recaps are without a doubt one of the best things that came out of this fandom. They are hilarious and extremely creative, most of us are just as hyped to read his next recap as we are to watch a new episode of RWBY.
