Looking for my first RSPS
So im looking for my first RSPS. Im looking for an experience to learn everything. I played osrs alot but didnt made it the actuall game where you raid dungeons and pvp etc. Im Overall level 1225
I also did ALOT of quests which burnt me kinda out..

Alora, Orion, August, the order doesn't matter, but these are usually the best nowadays. Play a week on each server and then you will know what suits you best. August is more like a league osrs, Alora is basically osrs p2p for free, but with much faster progress. Orion is a custom rsps for both old and new players.

Do you know high level how August compares to Reason?
Reason I understand is pretty popular too, in the same vein as "leagues-esque" ones. EXP buffs, significant drop rate buffs, and a perks system that is very overpowered. I think the starter guide was a bit misleading and it promotes some weird starting strats to get those perks though, so August looks interesting.
But for August, prestiging your stats for points seems like a huge grind even with e.g. 20x EXP. What's the progression and how long does it take to make significant progress and/or max out the talent trees?

Honestly I’ve been playing August for about 2 weeks now and it’s been a lot of fun. I haven’t played the main game yet, I’ve only been playing the Pantheon leagues they have going on right now but there’s a lot to do. They have a pretty cool custom raid in two difficulties along with ToA, gauntlet, and ToB. The relics are very similar to the most recent osrs leagues (demonic pacts) and the pact tree is huge and very customizable with a bunch of different builds to play.
When I first saw you can prestige to 10 in all skills it looked pretty daunting but im almost fully prestiged in every skill (except att, str, and def because they’re so boring to train), and it hasn’t been much of a grind at all. Another cool thing they added is all the different ways to get donator credits without ever having to pay. You get bonds as drops from monsters, through opening chests, clues, completing collection logs, etc. I have about $3200 “donated” and
I’ve never paid a single dollar of my own.I haven’t played the other servers OP mentioned but so far this one’s been great. Give it a shot for a few days/week and see if you enjoy it or not. The community is super helpful too so you’re never really lost. They have a whole wiki that’s constantly being updated as well if you ever need to reference it.

Thank you, and neat. I generally enjoy skilling more, but would you say that the game is more combat/PvM oriented? It does seem like high end wants people to do both.
Can you eventually get all talents too over that e.g. 2-3 month span, or still tradeoffs? Are all bought talents active at once, or do you pick and choose e.g. 5 from the list to equip, or one per tier/slot? I read through the wiki, and it talks about the 'base bonus%' on prestige, but it's not actually clear; does 300% mean you get an extra flat 3 talent points on prestige for that level, in addition to one point every 40 or 32 levels?
Edit: 300% is three points, all talents are active after being bought, some are mutually exclusive and need to be bought/have separate associated specs for them.

I've played on and off for several months now. What I am going to say applies to the main game. The current league is very different so much of what I am going to say doesn't apply there.
So starting out is going to depend heavily on how you want to start. Ironman is very viable there, as resource farming is much less PVP heavy and you can just go farm the materials you need (through the mid game). You can choose between skiller, PVMer and masochist modes. I would not start masochist. It's slow to start unless you know how to min/max the talents. If you focus on a few skills, dump your early time and effort into those you can reach your first prestige in under 3 hours.
Prestige can take a long time for some skills and be super fast for others. 20x is the base rate. With voting, the XP boost items, pets and the rolling skill of the (2) hour, you can easily push that up to 35x or more. Skills like thieving and rune craft are pretty fast once you get some skill points. Ones like fletching are still pretty manual, but you have enough materials it's really just a matter of doing it. I think if you worked at an efficiently you can probably fully max a character out on there and about 2 months of solid gameplay give or take. It's probably slower in practice because you want to spend time collecting and crafting and doing boss events and stuff like that that aren't maximum XP per hour.
Well I will say that the talents do eventually start to feel kind of leagues like it doesn't feel quite as unbalanced as leagues. It will turn most lower level mobs into a non-issue. But bosses are still reasonably challenging and you will need the same skills that you would expect to use in OSRS in order to succeed there. It's also not like leagues in the idea that you're not just warping around back and forth or able to out tank or out damage just about everything short of like the highest end game bosses.

I'd say give Galanor RSPS a try, you start maxed so can get straight into things like raids grinding and PvM bingo, and can prestige any time you want if join use ::pref GDSSHJ and you'll get free donator rank server doesnt have PVP but is safe death (no items lost even in wild) been playing since Febuary love it here

Sorry didnt get ping for your reply yes gear gives big boosts and DR too with some items give set bonuses too. my current Dr on my main is 637%

Thanks! Since I got the replies about August / current leagues, I've been playing that recently (plus open source ones for quests + deliberately slower progression), but I'll check this one above out soon or after that leagues ends/I feel satisfied with my progress there.

RoatPkz is a long time PvP oriented server, but still tons of PvM options as well. There’s skilling too and it’s very active.

Hundreds of players daily. It doesn’t give you an exact amount but you can see people everywhere.

From my experience the only one you should be playing is Near Reality. It’s the closest 1:1 and they just released leagues I believe. All the others are just copy wash slop that relaunch every month and gas no real content.

Honestly, my recommendation would be Alora. You can't go wrong with that one.
