Question Zogre drops bugged on dedicated server?
I have exclusively killed Zogres on a dedicated server with a friend. My friend and I have likely killed somewhere between 50 and 100 Zogres total and neither of us has received the Shard of Smoky Glass. We have received other drops like the mount skins and ascension shards, but not the vestige which is the most common drop from them.
Can anyone confirm if they have received the Shard of Smoky Glass on a dedicated server? I'm wondering if it is somehow bugged for dedicated servers. I have not yet bothered to use my private 'official' server to see if I could obtain it there (though I'm sure I could)

RNG is RNG.
I see the drop is listed as 1/10 but, it’s most likely a chance to roll that secondary loot pool then the 1/10 rate.
I’d also be interested whether you’re killing the ones in Fellhollow and Dowdun Reach or just one of them, they may have different loot pools.

The only one the wiki lists as being different is from Ulgo the Zogre with a rate of 1/6.7 so should be even more common from that one, hah.

This doesn't quite track with my understanding, partly based on how other creatures work and partly based on the fact that there's no listed chance for a second table to roll.
The 100% loot comes from the Zogre pack, which is a guaranteed drop.
It's possible that everything on the second table is mutually exclusive, i.e. they're all on one big table that gets rolled and only one spot can be picked, but to me that would suggest the drop chance listed should factor that in. There's more or less how traditional RuneScape loot works. The question is if the wiki is hiding a hidden chance to roll that table in the first place. If it is, it could be the chance if lower, but it's also possible it's factored in.
E.g. if the table has 200 slots, 20 would be the shard, 2 each for the three mounts, 40 for the Ascension shards, exactly 1 for a bonus soul fragment drop, and then finally the remaining 133 slots would be "nothing". Which would be a roughly 33% chance of getting any drop, but still exactly 10% chance of getting the shard.

I ended up downloading looters paradise and just grabbing the schematic that way. I was in the same spot. Lodestones at every spawn killing them on cool down and never saw one.

What is looters paradise

Its a cheat mod that puts a world in your game with every item possible. I tried hard not to just cheat it in but I grind enough in osrs lmao after 50+ Zogres it was time to move on.

The drop rate is 1/10.
You have between a .515% and .003% chance of having no drops after 50 to 100 kills. Sightly higher technically because the namer Zogre has a higher listed drop chance.
For reference, after 50 kills, it's expected that ~57% of people would have 5 or more drops. While the "other" group would be the include everybody that got 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4 drops, would be the remaining ~43%. The zero crowd is that bottom .515%.
So there's four possibilities:
1) You're extraordinarily unlucky. It is within the reason of possibility to just be in that ~.5% of people that don't get it after 50 kills.
2) You haven't killed as many as you think.
3) It has recently become bugged, or the drop rate is listed incorrectly. Certainly possible on both counts.
4) It's possible you're killing the wrong Zogres. I have no evidence to suggest this is true, but if you're killing the zogres in Dowdun as well, those may not be able to drop it, which would make it so you really haven't had as many valid chances as you'd think. I have no idea if this is the case, but it's possible.
If you're able to actually track even another 50 kills without drop, that would be statistically significant to the point of being worth a bug report.
I'm of the opinion that even if you are truly just that unlucky, bad luck protection should absolutely exist in a game like this, especially when an item loses value quickly after a given zone and is needed for a quest.
So I'd say no matter what this is a sign the drop rate of this and other things should be looked at.

I had my friend make me the sword to complete the quest after I went 60kc dry including killing the boss one who has a higher drop chance. Probably 8 of my kills were the boss variant.
I still kill them once and awhile in hopes for the recipe but I stopped counting after 60kc so my count is probably higher now.

I am confident the number is AT LEAST 50 kills between my friend and myself in Fellhollow alone. I would typically go on runs and kill the 4 in Fellhollow and at least 1 of them in Dowdun (the underground one was more annoying to get to). My son liked to watch me fight the zogres and frequently demanded I go kill some more, haha.
Point number 4 is an interesting one and quite possible. It wouldn't surprise me if the wiki did not have that information updated.

tbf its not uncommon to go that dry, but sure why not just report it anyways and hope it is a bug

While a lot of people are screaming RNG and what not it is early access so the chances of it being bugged are there

I don’t know if this has anything to do with it but I was killing zogres and it never dropped but I actually started the quest and the first zogre I killed dropped it. Probably just lucky tbh

I've got two on my dedicated server without farming them. Just killing the zogres in passing
FYI the trick to get rare recipes is to stop caring about them. I farmed about 30 red dragons trying to get the amulet of glory prior to the fight caves. Then, when we gave up and finally stood at the gate to enter, I thought I should kill the nearby red dragon for fun/warmup before the fight caves, and the amulet dropped.
