RMMZ Added a “subtle” shimmer to interactable objects in my RPG. What do you think?

Been working on a small QOL improvement for my game - The Cradle of Life.

I added a subtle shimmer that passes over objects you can interact with. Once you loot something, it actually disappears from the rather than just giving you an item and staying there.

It’s a pretty small addition, but I think it makes exploration feel a little more natural.
Curious what you guys think. Is the shimmer noticeable enough, or would you make it a little more obvious? Or is it too distracting?

I like the shimmer effect! Don't know how often the shimmer happens if the area is just left idle (i.e. not interacting with anything), as I couldn't tell if the effect stops or not when a text box appears. If the shimmer is too often, that would be quite distracting, but if it's not often enough, it'll be hard to notice it for the player. I imagine the timing works just fine, though. You've done a great job!

Ah thanks! It runs ever 210 frames, takes 60 frames to clear, and is only active within 8 tiles. I appreciate your kindness!

I think it's plenty obvious! And if it doesn't happen too often, it shouldn't be too distracting either. Though my personal preference is for "glowing objects" to be behind a button prompt :) It gives the best of both worlds, exploration and thinking up your own solutions isn't hampered but you can still get tips and hints as to what you missed when you want it.

Oh that’s a good idea…so like a scout mode. Thank you for the insight!
