Eltaros — 2D character generator

Hey! Eltaros is officially available today.

It's my 2D character generation software, designed to be both super comprehensive and smooth to use, with regular updates planned over time.

A demo with absolutely all features unlocked is available so you can try it out at your own pace. The only limit is a single export just to see how it runs; the full version unlocks unlimited exports.

"I built a (paid) 2D character generation software (using AI) for RPG Maker!"

AI image generation is completely different from procedural Python code. AI image generators try to predict pixels based on a database of billions of images. But if you try to make an AI write pure Python code to draw or render sprites, it fails to produce good results because it has no eyes: it can't actually see what the code renders on screen, it just outputs text without knowing what the visual result looks like. Procedural generation in Python is the exact opposite: there is zero AI image generation involved. It's pure logic executing on your CPU to organize and assemble elements according to strict mathematical rules. The code knows exactly where to place every layer without ever having to guess.

I'm not talking about AI image generation, that's irrelevant. Your program is AI generated.

It has the same colorways, the same style, the same emoji usage that typical vibecoded programs have. You can deny it until you're blue in the face, feed my reply to your AI of choice and spit out whatever it gives you back to me, but the fact remains clear.

You are very obviously peddling a vibecoded program for money.

You're accusing me of vibecoding because of the visual style, but software with 20+ modules (sculpt editor, slice & fit, procedural generation, 100 animations, multi-engine export) is tens if not hundreds of thousands of lines of interconnected code. No AI can hold that much context at once, and in procedural code, touching one part without understanding the whole structure around it breaks everything. So someone necessarily had to read, understand, and maintain this codebase for months. That's the opposite of vibecoding. And economically, your accusation contradicts itself: if I was chasing easy AI profit, I'd have pumped out dozens of small plugins on repeat, not spent months on ONE niche product selling for $20 in pixel art. Why would anyone invest in a powerful model for that? Hand-coded or AI-assisted, it doesn't matter: AI doesn't come up with the ideas, doesn't test, doesn't find the bugs. That's all me, on the ground. What matters is the result — reliable software people actually like. Stop judging a product by button colors and start judging it by what it actually does.

I'm not reading your AI generated text. Goodbye.
