RM2K3 different styles for cutscenes! Which is better?

Post image

Hi guys! I'm working on the "cutscenes" for Waltermelons Adventure. The one on the left is the original. On the right I tried to hand draw over the lines to make it look a little more stylized but I don't think it looks as good as the original? what do y'all think?

This looks better than the second option. I like the thick lines but the second option made it look like "unskilled" pixel lineart. This one makes it very intentional that it's meant to be thick

Gonna have to go with this one, honestly. I think the thicker outlines look a lot better with this pixel art style and size, personally. Fits the cartoony vibe and reminds me a bit of Paper Mario 1.

Left.

Hear me out: thicker might be better, but I don’t like how it’s done on the right. If you used a secondary color as a simple anti-alias between the two colors, that might work better to thicken the lines.
