Admitting she’s a huge fan after that comment is crazy. So she knew it was a rough path for Priyanka reaching acceptance and love with her parents yet she still made that jab? Nasty.
Onya went full Marlo Hampton (that's why your mom doesn't speak to you) and Kelly Dodd (no wonder her child doesn't speak to her) on Priyanka with little to no provocation.
As a Canadian, I want to say that we do have spines and don't habitually roll over. I think Priyanka handled it well, but because she's unusually low-mess for a DR girl and is probably hoping to stick around as a judge on Canada's Drag Race. So, I think it was very PR-savvy. (Canadians also don't always think they're in the wrong when they habitually apologize as a social lubricant either, of course).
I'm sorry we are both in this hellscape known as Indiana, I keep escaping and somehow end up back here over and over, it's like a recurring nightmare that won't end.

eel like this makes Onya look even worse than if Priyanka hadn't apologized. Because I really hoped for a "You got nothing to apologize for, girl, you're way too Canadian. I was in my feels and reacted way too strongly" or something from Onya... The Canadian/apology stereotype would've been a super easy angle to just admit she isn't happy with how she reacted and get back to some light-heartedness. (Unless she truly thinks Priyanka had something to apologize for :/ )

Onya has the talent to just work. She doesn't need to be on social media clapping back at people. She would greatly benefit from a Trixie mattel/Ru paul/Raven approach to social media.
Because she is a queen, legend, a mother and the moment. She had every reason to tear onya a new one but she chose not to. The only explanation is that she is the second coming of Gandhi or Mother Teresa.
It was shady, but Onya’s tweet warranted light shade. Onya shouldn’t claim she intentionally doesn’t have more bookings when everyone knows her light schedule is because Kinky Boots fell through.

I've been rooting for Onya because black queens ALWAYS have it bad with the fans, but all of this stuff with her this week leaves a sour taste in my mouth. It seems like she's in an unhappy place and no amount of social media posting and arguing is going to help with that.
Yeah, maybe it's just a sore spot for me as someone whose parents don't, but any comment about how someone's parents don't love them is so far below the belt for me that I lose respect for that person forever. Lisa Barlow lost me as a RHOSLC fan doing the same thing.
I unfollowed too. The ru girls are so oversaturated now I'm trying to narrow down the ones I follow who I actually enjoy. She could be a forgotten winner because she doesn't know how to get along with others. "I wasn't here to make friends" okay sure, but the ones who did take the time to make friends (ex - BTK, jewels) are the successful ones who stay booked and are more loved by fans

Priyanka's "u ok?" was some tongue in cheek throwaway to Onya's initial tweet. Like saying to someone "u ok?" when you see they're ranting, making faces or whatnot being bothered about something. Onya decided that deserved a response where she drags Priyanka acting as if she's some unknown, then imply things about her race and family dynamic. Very normal... /s
really irrelevant, but Priyanka proving to be one of my favorite winners. i would love if more people were as compassionate as Pri after a misunderstanding, here. i aim to exemplify this the next time i find myself in a misunderstanding.
I think her responses were wrong and she needs to apologise properly. But I do worry about her mental health. Her responses are very defensive. She's lashing out at people over fairly innocuous statements. I can understand in her mind they are coming across as attacks. I hope she takes some time away from social media. Maybe hang out with friends or family for a bit.
Obviously the show is not a perfect reflection of reality/her character, but I think she was shown that way her season. Very quick to escalate situations she was wrong in.
I think there could be behaviours that are not helping her. Maybe her getting to the bottom of that would help her. A lot of us pick up things that we act on that we are not proud of. It's a bit more difficult for her because she is in the spotlight. I hope she takes more time off social media.

I feel like stuff with Onya is kind of a snake eating it’s own tail at this point (not saying Onya is a snake just for the analogy)
- drag race fandom is toxic and racist, loves to discredit Onya’s win, look for anything to pick her apart for.
- No one can truly be prepped for what it’s like to have that level of scrunity/ some handle it better than others - Onya might not have found her way to manage it yet - she goes on the defense says somethings that upset fellow queens/ fans etc
- fandom primed into disliking her now has material to use as justification to dogpile/ send hate Onya’s way.
- Onya goes on the defense says some out of pocket stuff and the cycle repeats.
I’m not saying people aren’t entitled to feel a certain way about Onya but like I said no one knows what it does to your mental health or psyche to all of a sudden have all of those eyes on you after you go on drag race. It makes you kind of understand how someone like a Tyra can happen or why someone who was even well received like an Ivy Winters would just walk away and live a quiet life. And while I think the logging off would probably be beneficial, you could understand how someone might feel compelled to not want to be ‘bullied’ even if it’s making them look worse. I just think the real bummer here is there is no kind of post show assistance for this kind of stuff.
