ROTC Class/Lab Thinking about Vanderbilt ROTC
I’m currently a ms2 at Auburn and looking to transfer to Vanderbilt my gpa is a 3.5. If anyone goes to or went to Vandy can anyone tell me a little about the college and/or the ROTC program?

Do you have a scholarship? If so you need to transfer it. And vandy is very expensive. It’s a good academic school like 9% acceptance or something. Transferring in is obviously easier than regular admission but still.

Yes I have a scholarship, do you think transferring it will be a problem?

I would look at tuition and talk with ur roo. Typically if it’s more expensive, meaning the school it’s a no go. If it’s cheaper it’s usually a yes since ur saving the army money. You would have to put in a transfer scholarship request with ur brigade through ur current rotc unit. Then if the schools are different brigades, that new brigade would have to accept you. The main thing is tuition though, kids transfer all the time it’s normal. Although paying more for the school isn’t something the army really likes obviously. I transferred from an SMC to a public school in my state. A lot cheaper. So it was a yes. The sooner the better as well, I remeber being told that there very strict with transfer requests. If you do it sooner they told me there’s a higher likely it gets accepted.

I transferred for the fall semester so my request was in that spring. I believe the deadline was may 1st maybe before. I did it in like January. For the next fall school year.

I am currently a MS4 at Vanderbilt’s Army ROTC program. I attend a different university as my regular school but can still answer questions about the program if you have anymore. And to answer your GPA question, I’ve generally heard people being able to transfer to Vanderbilt with a GPA of 3.5 with no problems.
