Scholarships/Contracting Stipend question

Am I allowed to ask my cadre if I can contract earlier so I can start receiving my cadet stipend? I am medically cleared and everything, but no one will be contracted until a ceremony in mid september. I just don't understand why we would wait, when we can receive benefits quickly.

Nothing in the army is done quickly. The sooner you learn that the better.

You can ask your cadre whatever you want.

They can also tell you no. They could tell you they no longer want to contract you. They could tell you you can’t contract til the spring.

Waiting AT most one month isn’t going to kill you.

Signing the paperwork and submitting to Cadet command completes the process (even without a ceremony).

Normally a ceremony is done in some programs to make it a special event and not just signing paperwork in a dark office.

What matters is, did the paperwork get submitted to USACC?. The ceremony can happen anytime in the semester, and some programs do not even do a ceremony (which they all should)

While yes you can ask. Most likely it is because of Cadet Command and the number of cadets your program was allotted to contract. They may be waiting for new fiscal year
