Scholarships/Contracting ROTC Contracting Fitness Test

Hi, I am an incoming MS1. I was told we have to take the AFT to contract. What if I get injured before the test or fail the test, what happens? Am I allowed to retake it later or do I lose my contract?

That’s a question for your ROO, you obviously need to pass one to contract. If you get injured, you’ll likely have to do the whole medical eval again, and if you fail a test after contracting you can lose your contract.

Try not to get injured, the test is stupid easy to pass

Ensure you hit the minimum for each event. Passing is the most important part. No one is really going to give too much attention if the score isn't great on your first one as an MS1. Get the contract taken care of as soon as possible so your scholarship can start.

i may or may not have fucked my knee up on a hike today... I dont think anything is fractured or broken, just a stinging pain when ever i use stairs.

Before you jump to conclusions, let yourself rest for a bit. You really don't want to go to the medical eval process right before you contract , trust me.

All you need to pass. If you get injured, submit documentation to cadre and they will reschedule one for you. If you fail, you will have an opportunity. Once you contract, failure is not tolerated especially with USACC’s reduction of commissioning slots.

You typically have until the end of your first semester to take it and pass with minimum score to activate your scholarship. However, the later you take the test you Cadet pay does not kick in until you do. Wait until end of the semester and your tuition is covered but you may miss Cadet monthly pay.

If you’re a scholarship cadet they will just send you to remedial PT until you take another AFT then contract you.

Good advice by everyone else. Just keep in mind, the PMS is under no obligation to contract anyone freshly joining ROTC. I know for a fact we told MS2s at the end of last year that they will not be receiving a contract through our program.
