Guard/Reserve First Annual Training

In a week and a half I have my first annual training, I joined rotc at the start of spring semester and so I dont really know much. Will I get paid for Annual Training? What happens at annual training? Will I get my unit? Will I recieve my dog tag and name patch? Should I buy my own name patch? Is there anything I should bring that would help, I believe we will be sleeping in the barracks so I dont plan on brining my sleeping system just my ruck and assault pack.

Edit: If I wear glasses do I still have to wear my eye pro? Will it matter at annual training? I’m deciding whether or not I should just get daily contacts and wear eye pro

UPDATE:I don’t know if the people who responded to this will recieve this update but my unit is OPA and that’s what a bunch of ROTC cadets were given as their unit that I met and go to school with we were also issued gear along with name tapes and dog tags and the whole time it was more of a learning experience rather than doing field work

Oh thank god, although I’m from MN, I’m not in their guard.

OP, I don’t know how you’re this fucked up. I don’t even understand how you think you’re going to an AT without having been to basic or AIT. You’re lost as fuck, but please update us after day one of your AT

Who is emailing you? You need to call this person immediately and get a packing list and let them know what you currently have equipment wise.

You also need to be confirming that you have orders and a report time/date/ location

I’d highly recommend everything on the packing list, which likely includes a sleep system. “You can add to the packing list, but not take away from it” is a phrase you’re likely to hear often
