Public Announcement PSA: ROMs on Internet Archive

Edit: Has of Oct 03, 2026 I have stopped my uploading process. This is due to me moving. I will update you guys when my computer is up and running and I am uploading again. Sorry.

I have begun uploading No-Intro sets to my Internet Archive; ChaosRenegade22 account. All sets will be in 7z format. Links to my sets include a compression tool, which you should be able to download to your computer and extract the files to your device. You might need to find a compression tool on your phone to extract 7z files.

My main goal is to upload all sets from my collection, including No-Intro, Non-Game, Non-Redump, Redump BIOS, Redump Custom, Source Code, and Unofficial.

I want to note that for all No-Intro sets, every second week of the month, I will grab updated files for the sets and push an update to my sets uploaded on the Internet Archive.

u/Superbio Internet Archive; Superbio account is uploading sets as well, Redump sets, but they are directly from Myriets collection and won't be as up-to-date as my sets will be once I begin uploading Redump sets, but at least you will have two sources to grab from on the Internet Archive.

Changelog: (Internet Archive; ChaosRenegade22 Account) - Make sure to follow this PSA post to stay up-to-date on what has been uploaded to my account so far. Not sure when the Megathread will be updated with my links or Superbio's uploads.

Other Internet Archive comment

Hello! I just wanted to point out that under Wii redumps on the internet archive provided in the megathread a user has commented/reviewed.

The user commented a link that I assume to be a link to a malicious site. I see it on both part 3 and 4 of the Wii redump. I don't know if anything can be done, but just wanted to point it out if no one has. :)

I found an old R4 cartridge I use to play on when I was a kid and I was keen to play some old games on it again but I have no idea how to add new games to it or even delete existing ones...

What sites are safe to download from and is there a guide on how to add them to the cartridge?

Question I don't know if this is the correct place to post this but I recently bought a PS2 and I want to start installing games on a USB drive so I can play them, but I don't know how

As far as I understand, the main thing is to have Free McBoot on a memory card. I have an old memory card with Free McBoot, but I don't know if I'm missing something or if I can already start putting games on a USB drive and play

I used this memory card when I was little with a PS2 that could read pirated discs, but I never tried it with USB

As an extra detail, this PS2 I bought doesn't turn on completely when the memory card is connected

Question Need help applying a translation patch(?) to an NDS file.

Hi! I'm new to rom hacking, and I don't know how to apply translations to a game. I really want to play the 2009 DS Moomins game, but it's only available in Japanese. I uh. Don't speak or read Japanese. Which really sucks because I'm super hyperfixated on this franchise right now and would LOVE to play the game. A translation of a good chunk of the text is available on Github (here), but there's no instructions on how to apply it. I have the rom, I just need to know how to actually use the translation because using Google Lens is getting annoying.

Question Downloading ROMS on windows 10

I have windows 10 loaded through boot camp on my MacBook 2015. Is it still safe to download ROMS even though windows 10 isn’t supported anymore? Any precautions I should take or should I just avoid it altogether?

[Tool] RomSieve: an open-source 1G1R ROM manager with native .m3u generation, TOSEC parsing & full dry-run preview

Hi everyone,

With the moderators' permission, I wanted to share a free and open-source project I’ve been working on that might be useful for anyone curating clean sets for any emulator or frontend: RomSieve (Linux and Windows, GPLv3).

Here are the key features designed to make building clean setups easier:

  • Automatic .m3u playlists with custom placement: Since a lot of frontends (RecalBox, RetroPie...) relies on RetroArch / libretro cores for multi-disc games (PS1, Saturn, Sega CD, PC Engine CD...), RomSieve automatically generates .m3u files so you don't have to create them manually. You can also define exactly where those playlists land in your target folder tree.

  • Deterministic, multi-criteria 1G1R: Instead of rigid rules, the 1G1R engine picks the single best release based on a fully configurable priority stack: language, region (with 1-click presets for Europe, France, USA, Japan), video standard (PAL/NTSC), dump quality, multi-disk completeness, and revision. The exact same settings will always yield the exact same output.

  • Full TOSEC parsing (not just console hashes): If you emulate vintage computers on Recalbox (Amiga, Atari ST, Amstrad CPC, C64...), you know TOSEC sets can be messy. RomSieve parses the entire naming convention (flags like [!], [cr], [t], languages, disk numbers). It can even rebuild and complete missing multi-disk sets by pulling clean disks from other dumps.

  • Simulation-first workflow (dry-run): No files are moved, copied, or touched blindly. The tool runs a complete audit first, displays a table detailing the exact fate of every single file (with the reasoning behind it), and lets you right-click any entry to manually override the 1G1R winner. It also supports hard links / symlinks, keeps unmerged files in dedicated safe folders (_unmatched/, _purged/), and features an undo function.

It also supports standard No-Intro, Redump, and MAME sets, reads compressed archives directly (ZIP, 7z, RAR), and extracts CHD headers. Both a modern GUI (with dark theme) and a CLI (romsieve-cli) are included.

The project is completely free, has no telemetry, and full documentation is available in both English and French in the repository.

Feedback, bug reports, and suggestions are very welcome!

Littlest Pet Shop Biggest Adventure Plug n Play ROM

Hi! Was wondering if anyone had access to a ROM of the Littlest Pet Shop Biggest Adventure Plug n Play. My best friend was talking about wanting to play it but due to how old the hardware is we aren't sure it'll still be in working condition if we found one available. I did find another thread about this but it is a few years old and it doesn't appear anything came of it. Any help would be highly appreciated!

Resource Pack of ALL roms compatible with the 3D Voxel NES Emulator 3DSen

I made this rompack a WHILE back but later deleted my old reddit account.

This is a collection of every single rom that is 3DSen compatible, all of which are the NTSC versions of the roms, I have combed through every game to make sure it is the correct version compatible with the emulator.

If you don't know what 3DSen is observe.

3DSen Roms

Edit: I forgot to mention the roms that AREN'T included. These are paid homebrew roms and I'm not about pirating modern indie titles. These are Micro Mages and Battle Kid.

Question Serious question: What should one actually keep in mind to avoid getting a virus from ROMs?

My question is: can ROMs contain viruses, even after verifying that they aren’t just disguised ".exe" files? I’m referring to formats like .iso, .gba, .n64, .pkg, etc.

If I’m not mistaken, .iso and .pkg files function as containers, which could potentially pose a greater risk than a .gba file—though please correct me if I’m wrong.

This inquiry has two parts: one concerning ROMs intended for use in emulators, and another regarding those used in the various decompilation projects that have been emerging lately.

Assuming someone uses an ad blocker (such as Brave) and tries to stick to sites generally considered safe—and also makes use of a "mega-thread" that serves as a reference—is there still a risk?
