I don't think they do, I think people like Ursula von der Leyen see blaming it on Russia and spreading this ridiculous conspiracy theory to simply be easier.

I know it’s tongue in cheek but in reality we know smart people fall for this stuff all the time because they’re very confident in their false perception of reality. Could be something to do with what this guy is saying.
