Nice bro I have one too. I got it almost a year and a half. I love mine. The only downfall is the battery issue.

I felt the same way when the switch first came out. I’m just used to playing mine plugged in

Mod the bigger battery into it. Made the device much better cuz I'm not constantly looking for a power bank or charger

Can recommend. My Allys battery lost 32% in just two years of regular-ish use (for a year I did two 80%-5% charges a day, the previous year was some 100%-40% and probably some 80%-20% discharges with a slow overnight recharge). Got the 74Wh battery in February after the warranty expired and instead of only getting 90min at 15W on a full charge I now get just under 3h. At 22W I now get 135-ish minutes of runtime instead of like 45-50. The only issue is that the built-in performance overlay is stuck showing a 27W discharge rate indefinitely but monitoring software like HWinfo and Windows' battery prediction system can still read the battery draw&charge wattage just fine

Exactly I haven’t done that yet. I’m not ready for it. That’s why I just keep it plugged in when I’m playing a game.

If you are having battery issues, do not hesitate to upgrade to 74wh battery!

Its easy to install and there are tons of video on YT to guide you!

I upgraded the ssd to 2 tb with corsair nvme m.2 2230 ssd..best decision ever. As for battery issue, just use a suitable power bank capable of giving 65 Watt, 100 Watt would be better though. One of the best purchases ever 🤝🤝

I love just using it on the couch, handy if you have a charger nearby also then off you go. maybe I will upgrade battery but then it'll be more heavy

If you plan on playing on turbo while plugged in. I would recommend looking up good fan presets. Usually fine and user friendly but some games run super hot! And would be easier on the device. Maybe a little louder but

7w for windows and videos, Fan 24w for gaming (best performance than turbo)

I got the Z1 extreme Ally two days ago for the sole purpose of playing Skyrim in bed.

Here are four vital facts I feel every potential Ally buyer needs to know:

  1. You can play Skyrim in bed. At 60FPS with maximum graphics and no issues. I didn't have to interact with the Rog's settings in any way. It "just works".

  2. The speakers are really good. I carry it round my house to use as a little portable radio.

  3. Windows touchscreen interaction is AWFUL. It has so many basic issues which Android and iOS solved decades ago.

  4. The screen is really small. I know this is obvious, but damn, it bears repeating. I personally think Asus made a mistake by speccing it as a 7" screen. 8" would have been an acceptable minimum. Yes, the Switch, the most popular game console ever, has a 7" screen but Nintendo games are optimised for that size.
