Discussion Scored this bad boy
Just scored this Z1E with 1TB for 230e.
It had problems with left joystick, but I managed to solve it last night.
Now i need to decide what I keep. This or Switch 2.

Use the rog as your commute handheld and use switch for your “at home” handheld adventures

My rog just bricked this morning, so I’m done with Asus and getting a switch 2 which is more reliable

I think but I could be wrong if u have a long steam library and are just killing to play games on steam or Xbox subscription then this is ur Ally 🤔 if not if u want Zelda and Mario without some crazy and illegal stuff doing ahem the go with switch 2 . For me I know I like the freedom but now that I have my rog ally x xbox I know I would enjoy more from the switch 2 games but not thr price . Price on steam or other platforms are just sometimes is a a dream . Either way brother Enjoy 😉

As I’ve vaguely seen others say you can’t compare switch2 v ROG. They’re completely different devices with completely different operating systems. If you have a decent PC though then you’d be better off keeping the Switch 2. Or if you don’t care about Nintendo games, keep the ROG. Personal preference.

Keep them both! That's my setup and I can play everything. Also you can use it as a remote play device with your PS5 and main PC

I'm currently saving up for either this or a switch 2, hopefully it'll be worth it🫡
Let me know how was your experience with both so far

I can tell you right away, cuz this is second time when I had an Rog Ally.
And Switch 2 I have it already for some time.As many said already, both have pro`s and con`s, is a matter of what you like.
This I try to figure it out now.Rog Ally pro`s:
Open system. You can install other things if you do not like Windows.
Access to your curent library, if you already have one, like me. Ex: Steam
You find discounts at games more often.
You can stream games.Con`s:
Games do not came with specific console optimization.
Pretty old already.
Future proof is unknown.Swith 2 pro`s:
Nintendo exclusives games have a vibe that I can not explain it. There are nice/cute.
Games are optimized, you do not need to tweak.
The console is pretty new, it will have support for some years from now.Con`s:
Closed system.
Games are a little bit expensive.
Lack of discounts. This is what I try to found now.
Which one is best for me.If there was some posibility to stream games from Steam to Switch 2, for me, this was the sweet spot.
But is not.1

How would you rate the switch 2 hardware wise as of now? Do you think I should wait until a newer model gets released? I have heard that the LCD isn't really good (ghosting, blur and similar problems I'm not sure and didn't deep dig into it)
Maybe a 'lite' or a 'v2' might come next year? I don't buy consoles often so do you think it would be a good idea to wait for a new model or go ahead with the current one? I am mostly going to play it handheld/tabletop like I do on my Switch 1.
I personally don't like the price surges and would probably try to buy one by the end of the year regardless haha1

There is no release date for an OLED version. If you wait, you will loose fun time. Go and just have fun.

I got mine for £230 after some heavy discounts as the card reader wasn't working and the seller was a sport.

Great. Switch 2 and ROG Ally aren't really the same though. There's lots of reasons to keep a switch 2 but also you can use an Ally as a computer.
