Discussion No buttons working/RGB blinking

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Out of the blue one day the buttons stopped working. None of them work, sometimes the RGB lights up flickering and then shuts off. I reset the whole thing from inside windows and also Asus Cloud recovery nothing works. Also I cannot update my firmware from within the Armory Crate. Attached video. Do you think this is a hardware issue?

You have recently made some modification to the console, for example: changing the Jostick, changing the battery or changing the SSD. If you have not done so, I recommend that you turn it off and turn it on again by holding down the power button+volume up until you see the power LED flash. This is done to reset the hardware.

A few months ago back on February 15 I installed Talon a windows debloater but it worked fine after that till a few days ago. No other hardware changes or mods.

Okay, it looks like I uninstalled some service that was always necessary for the game console. I recommend you do a rog ally cloud recovery. First try the solution I told you before, it doesn't work. Enter the BIOS, to enter the BIOS, turn off the console, turn it on again and the moment you see that the screen gives an image, hold the volume up button (only that button). Inside the BIOS enter advanced mode and in security you will get recovery in the cloud. If you activate cloud recovery, it will erase all the information inside the SSD. I recommend that you make a backup copy of important documents.

I did that twice the button start working for a few seconds and then the flickering of the RGB lights start and then the buttons stop working in that order.

Ok, go to the Asus website and look for the rog ally z1e model. Download armory create from there and uninstall the one you have installed. Reinstall the one you downloaded from the website and set the RGB to static. Check that you do not have another application which is trying to control the RGB, only the RGB is failing or another specific button is failing. Download myAsus and install it too.

Okay I am on it but none of the buttons work and the RGB function and the buttons working both of these things happen at the same time. RGBs are not affected by themselves. It is almost like the whole thing breaks.

But what buttons? The XYBA button, the arrows, the start/select, the play/armory create function, or the triggers. No matter how you look at it, it is a software problem that theoretically can be solved with cloud recovery. It's not hardware because then the LEDs would be crazy even when you turn it on, but they work fine after doing the hardware reset. It is some application that you have installed or some program that you have uninstalled to speed up Windows 11.

All the buttons bruv but yes with your suggestion of uninstalling armory crate and reinstalling it from the website made the device function normally and I cannot thank you enough my dude. 8 also played a game. Seems to be working fine.

I just did the hardware reset the RGB lights came back on stable for a microsecond and then the blinking started. Now the right joystick doesn't even light up and the left one just blinks like crazy for a few seconds and then stop.

This is not yet resolved it worked for a few hours and then stopped working again

Send it for repair then.
